How to cook baked potatoes in the ninja foodi grill
There's something comforting and delicious about a baked potato and I've discovered the secret of how to make the perfect baked potato in the Ninja Foodi Grill.

Often synonymous with steak night, the baked potato is one of those comforting side dishes that are almost hefty enough to be considered a meal.

There are a variety of ways to make a delicious baked potato, but I'm convinced this method is best.

So what's the secret to cooking the perfect baked potato in the Ninja Foodi Grill?

Cooking the potato to the proper internal temperature is the secret to making a perfect baked potato.

And this makes sense!

If you had an expensive steak you would use a thermometer to make it perfectly so it makes perfect sense to use a thermometer when baking a potato.

What temperature is a baked potato done?

A baked potato is done perfectly when cooked to an internal temperature of 210F (or about 99C). This method works well for both an air fryer, and the Ninja Foodi Grill. But it also works well for your oven, pellet grill, gas grill, and charcoal grill.

You can cook a potato to as high as about 215F or about 101C but I see no need to wait that long to dig in.

Should I wrap my potatoes in foil?

If you wrap your potatoes in foil and cook them in the air fryer it won't hurt anything. However, cooking a potato in the air fryer without the foil produces a crispy and delicious potato skin. Some people like the crispy potato skin so much they even coat the baked potato in olive oil before cooking.

Can you overcook a potato?

Yes, you can overcook a potato in an air fryer. Depending on the size of the potato they cook at different speeds. Regardless of the size of the potato, this recipe actually cooks to temperature so you achieve perfect doneness that will have you reaching for the sour cream in no time.

Why you should be using an air fryer to cook a baked potato

What's so great about cooking a baked potato in the Ninja Foodi Grill or other air fryer is that you don't have to heat up the oven to have a perfectly baked potato!

This is especially helpful if you want to serve baked potato on a hot day, or in the summer.

Are there other fun ways to cook a potato?

One of the most fun ways to cook a potato other than in the air fryer is to cook it on the Traeger Grill. Another favorite way to cook a potato is to make Potato Pancakes on the Blackstone Griddle. One of the most delicious ways to enjoy a potato is twice baked. We do twice-baked potatoes in the air fryer and they are amazing!
