as with every place i tried they (GMpartsdirect) do not show a diagram or schematic only the part itself. And the video shows how to change on a different engine. does not help me in finding it on mine.

JayT2014,

Watching that second video (of the Cobalt) was like seeing a horrible car wreck. You're appalled yet you can't stop watching.

When that fellow started yanking on the wires I couldn't help but laugh. In my former life I would have used that video as an example of something that should never happen.

Everyone should see that footage.

Has anyone had an luck finding this thing? Everything I search online it's shows me the camshaft sensor and not the crankshaft. Really need to replace this ASAP. This is for a 2.4L.

It should be similar and close to the same location as this Chevy Cobalt 2.2.L engine.. Very close. . .

So did the Cobalt video help more or the diagrams?

It seems the video is about the same as the 2.4L CS sensor location.

I will delete which ever is not helpful.

Thanks!

For orientation purposes, doesn’t the “fat arrow” always point to the front of the vehicle (ie: the radiator)?

So the top crummy diagram is a view from the firewall side, while the bottom crummy diagram is looking down from the passenger-side fender?

Is that correct?

And the textual descriptions (“Lower Rear Side”, and “Right Side”) indicate orientation as if sitting in the vehicle, *not* the actual sides of the engine, right?

Look at the video of the Cobalt CPS I posted. It is more accurate than the diagram. . . . which is why I said it is crummy.
Can't please everyone and apparently it was all helpful - - -
- - - ergo the "Thank you sir!"

The diagram was from a shop manual and the line drawing is not the best and too cluttered for sure. I just included it as added info.

Again. . the video for the Cobalt engine is more useful. Same engine class.

I wasn’t criticizing the diagrams, I was just using your “crummy” term because I agree those Shop Manual sketches can be hard to use (especially orientation).

I KNOW WHERE IT IS
..i was going nuts till a friend who has a shop showed me...
Under the front end..between the engine and the transmission. You have to remove the exhaust front and reach up between the two. You need a lift..its not an easy job. Takes about two hours !!
Good luck..we gave up and paid some one l.

I have a 2014 terrain 4cyl. It's stalling only when cold started, once it warms up to operating temperature it runs good. Could this be a camshaft position sensor problem?

Where is the crankshaft sensor on a GMC Terrain?

The crankshaft position sensor is located near the engine's crankshaft, and relays information about the crankshaft's position as it rotates.

Where is the crankshaft position sensor located?

The Crankshaft Position sensor is normally located in the timing cover or on the side of the block with a cylindrical portion that inserts into the block. Will a malfunctioning Cam or Crank Sensor illuminate the check engine light or affect vehicle operation?
