Dec 18, 2009 I am use to using screws to install these types of brackets, but this kit (which is factory) came with what I can only describe as 4 "pins". I located all the dimples in the bumper, but I am not sure how these pins hold the bracket. Any advice Joined Oct 13, 2009 ·

those are what become 'rivets' I think. many people who remove the front plate holder- have to drill the head of that rivet- to remove the plate holder. Joined Dec 22, 2008 · 14,870 Posts

autozone; installed the entire thing in about 5 mins using the dimples on the front bumper cover. I priced the GM version ~$60, but ended up paying ~$15 for the autozone version. As far as the pins are concerned; I would agree they are probably some type of rivet that would require a tool to install. Joined Jul 13, 2007 · 624 Posts
Finally installed mine so I could show pride in my alma mater! :thumb: I bought a $15 rivet gun from Lowes in order to pop the rivets in place that came with the OEM license plate bracket. I used a 3/16" drill bit. Be careful and note that on the two bottom rivets you have to drill through the metal bumper behind the bumper cover or the rivets won't go
all the way in. Joined Jun 26, 2007 · 23,741 Posts

How do you install a front Licence bracket?Drive screws clockwise through the bracket into the bumper. Screw the license plate onto the bracket. After mounting the bracket, line the holes at the corners of the license plate with those at the bracket's corners. Drive screws clockwise through the holes to secure the license plate and complete installation.
What if my car doesn't have a front license plate holder in Texas?Motorists who do not have a front license plate risk incurring a Class C misdemeanor charge, punishable by fine not to exceed $500.
