Hi all, So due to that price I am considering a aftermarket unit. I am posting wondering if anyone has done this, and what was your experience with it? what ones do you recommend? what exactly do I look for in a aftermarket one? I did add a wireless back-up cam for ease of installation. AM/FM reception is as good as or better than the original. I'm happy. 04-04-2021, 04:27 PM Junior Member Thread Starter Join Date: Feb 2021 Location: Nova Scotia Posts: 11 Thanks for your reply, and for letting me know of this. Did everything else work like your steering wheel controls too? 04-05-2021, 03:05 PM Join Date: Jan 2016 Location: Ozarks Posts: 21 I currently use the volume up/down and mode buttons only. I'd guess the rest work but I don't do the smart phone interface and haven't even tried. 04-08-2021, 07:39 AM Junior Member Thread Starter Join Date: Feb 2021 Location: Nova Scotia Posts: 11 Ok, Thanks buzzard! 05-15-2021, 05:42 PM Junior Member Thread Starter Join Date: Feb 2021 Location: Nova Scotia Posts: 11 Two days ago my screen started to work
again, and it stayed working every time I turned my vehicle on again, then yesterday afternoon I decided to put my new maps SD card in (I had previously bought a new one off Amazon, heard of them going corrupt etc), and then turned it on and right away my screen was back to being distorted and mostly black again, ugh. 05-16-2021, 08:01 AM Join Date: Sep 2016 Location: Athens Ohio Posts: 240 Quote: Originally Posted by Jswinimer Two days ago my screen started to work again, and it stayed working every time I turned my vehicle on again, then yesterday afternoon I decided to put my new maps SD card in (I had previously bought a new one off Amazon, heard of them going

Get hold of some electronic contact cleaner, if you have your old SD card, spray some on it and insert and remove the SD card two or three times. If you don't have the old one, I don't think it will hurt the new card, just try the same thing. No guarantees, but at this point it can't hurt to try.
