Originally released in 2012 and called The Walking Dead: The Game or The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series, it arrived giving a lot to talk about, being very well received by players and critics. The Walking Dead is an episodic action-adventure, survival horror and drama game being developed by Telltale Games in partnership with Skybound. This year was released The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series which is a complete edition with all seasons, unlike the original in which it was released episode by episode.

The story is set in the same universe as The Walking Dead comics and with the presence of three characters from the famous series that bears the same name, namely: Hershel Greene, Shawn Greene and Glenn Rhee. However, most of the characters were created for the game, which focuses on college professor and convicted murderer Lee Everett, who rescues and takes care of young Clementine. The collection has the 4 main seasons plus the miniseries with Michonne. Plus a short documentary, 10 hours of developer commentary, a gallery of in-game art, and of course graphical and gameplay improvements.

Controlling Lee and protecting little Clementine, you seek to survive in a world taken by 'walkers' and for that you will have to fight them and also be aware of the 'friends' you make during your journey. Many try to deceive you, being traitors, and may end up getting in the way of your survival.

I won't go on with this analysis telling the full story, in case you don't know anything about the game, know that my focus here is to tell you the differences from the original game to this definitive edition.

As I said above, the collection has changes, both graphically and in game mechanics. In the images that I posted above, you can get an idea of the conclusion that it had after the changes were made, we can see an absurd change in the shading of the textures of the characters and also of the scenarios. At times it is surprising, even because the cardboard texture that the game takes is more brazen, and reality is left aside on some occasions.

In addition to the changes in the game's texture, the collection has its mechanics changed as well, such as dialogue and combat. The new mechanics make the game much more dynamic and with a limited time for you to make your choices, the previous version left players confused by poor execution. Now with a whole new look this is very difficult to do, it's something much sharper on your screen.

The Walking Dead is a game style where you make the choices and the story takes its course as you decide, in the style of Detroit: Become Human. Don't be surprised by the cartoon graphics that the game gets, this is standard in all Telltale games. The first season is breathtaking and if you are one of those who cry over anything, it will make you cry liters. Not wanting to belittle the other seasons, but it is in fact the one that most liked the fans, but it's really worth checking out the complete collection. The artistic quality and drama that is passed on are things that only you playing will understand.

No one paid much attention to this project at first, but after seeing that it is possible to have an attachment to the characters and, of course, hate others, love the plot and feel inside the game, many players will never forget the experience they had with the game.

Basic sound effects and a very relevant soundtrack go unnoticed.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series brings much-needed improvements to the game. For those who didn't know the game, it's worth checking out this story very well dramatized and with a very well done artistic quality. The game contains some bugs, like in dialogues and in vision to the previous and next episode, but leaving that aside, the story remains the same, well structured and executed, which led to its success. The highlight is the well-executed drama, the well-introduced characters into the story, and the improvements made to the game's mechanics and textures.
