NP Internships:

A unique clinical experience, our NP student clinical rotation program is an opportunity for NP students to gain exposure to a challenging clinical environment. NP students can gain real life experience by working with patients under a physician’s supervision, and learning the basics of EHRs and billing procedures.

MD to NP Training Program

Our MD to NP program, in partnership with Lehman College, allows IMGs the opportunity to transition to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. The concise program allows for flexible work hours. Essen Healthcare, through NYREACH, offers scholarships for qualified applicants.

IMG Clerkship Program

The IMG Clinical Clerkship Program is designed for all International Medical Graduates (IMGs), allowing them to obtain hands-on clinical experience within the United States. Our IMG program creates a unique opportunity for both providers and IMG’s to share information and learn from one another. The clerkship program offers IMGs a positive way to keep them active in the clinical arena and enhance their resumes should they decide to apply to residency.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Multidisciplinary grand round lectures are conducted by our providers from all fields of medicine every week. These lectures provide 1 CME Credit to eligible attendees and also help providers stay up to date with the latest clinical guidelines and developments in patient care and clinical practice. Our specialists and Primary Care Providers presenters rotate weekly to provide thoughtful, well-research presentation on clinically relevant subjects.

Besides CME meetings, participants of our internship program also get an opportunity to participate in clinical research and community health outreach. These activities are of great importance in helping the community and adding more value to one’s resume. Foreign MD to RN Program:

The Enfimye Institute's Nursing (ASN) program provides Foreign MD and Dentists a way to implement their healthcare knowledge and skills to earn their degree as a registered nurse, giving them away to aid the nursing shortage while improving the socio-economic conditions for this group of immigrants.

Within 16-18 months, Foreign MDs can:

1. Earn an Associate of Science Degree (ASN) in Nursing

2. Pass the NCLEX-RN exam and become a Registered Nurse

3. Earn a median salary of $71,730/ year or $34.48/ hour*

4. Continue a fulfilling career in the Medical profession

Foreign MDs will also be able to:

1. Complete required clinical hours in an approved medical facility

2. Receive Letters of Recommendation (LOR)

3. Gain US Clinical Experience (USCE)

4. Obtain CV/ Resume assistance and school reference.

Florida International University Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences created the nations first Foreign-Educated Physician (FEP) nursing Track in 2000. This pioneering Track offers doctors from other countries, who are not practicing medicine in the U.S., the unique opportunity to reemerge in the healthcare industry as nurses and nurse practitioners. Tapping this underutilized source for qualified nurses is a way to alleviate the nursing shortage, improve health care for patients, and increase diversity in the nursing workforce. This Track received a Recognition of Excellence Award distinction from the U.S. Department of Labor in 2006 as a viable 21st Century Workforce solution for the healthcare industry. In 2010, the FEP-to-BSN was transitioned into the FEP BSN/MSN as a way to fast-track students in pursuit of their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. This new accelerated curriculum allows students to obtain their MSN degree and become nurse practitioners in 8 semesters (3 years) as opposed to the traditional 6 years. Students in this track have the option to stop-out with their BSN-only degree after five semesters if they choose not to continue in the graduate track. Since graduating its first class in Miami in 2003, many FEPs have made their way from around the globe into nursing in Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
