Had original interchangeable model. Original had more power and quality was much better. This seems more like a cheap Chinese model verses Kobalt normal quality. Works fine but I am sure I will be using the five year warranty.

Iโ€™m enjoying the battery life, weight and the maneuverability of my new weed eater.

First impression it's a great weedeater. Had a hard time getting it together. Had to use a hammer. Cuts great, battery last about an hour, which is all you really want to lug it around, it's on the heavy side. Should come with a shoulder strap. All in all I would recommend this to anyone. I would put this up against any gas weedeater. No mixing gas and oil, no worries if it's gonna start after sitting for a while, no hot mufflers or engines, quieter than gas. I've cut really thick gas with it and it worked great.

I have a couple of other Kobalt 80 volt tools and have been pleased with their capabilities. The string trimmer is excellent for home use. I use it for grass trimming on 2 acres of grass and ... Fitted with a brush cutter head it taken care of 2-3 inch brush with relative ease, 3-4 inch takes a little time but it gets the job done. Suggest you add a strap, makes the use easier.

I have been very impressed with this weedeater. I got tired of dealing with gas engines that weren't designed to be subjected to the destructive properties of ethanol! Theres a reason you cant use ethanol in aircraft engines! Rant off. Love it!
**Update**
Yesterday I was weedeating and ran out of string, so I let go of the power switch and the head kept spinning and spun off and rolled off into the weeds. Now when I try to use the weedeater all it does it screw the center shaft into the trimmer head so tight that it won't spin. I'm guessing there was a spacer on the shaft that kept this from happening but I'm not sure yet.

Battery lasts longer than I do. No gas or exhaust fumes. Not as noisy as gas and seems to be just as efficient. I would never go back to my gas powered string trimmer.

Love this! Iโ€™ve dealt with gas-powered weed walkers for years and would spill fuel and have clogged carb problems all the time. This is the BEST on the market right now! (I also have the lawn mower, which is equally impressive.)
