For an even quicker meal, select thinner salmon fillets as those will cook faster than the thicker fillets.

SALMON Fresh salmon is always a good option when broiling fillets but if using frozen defrost it fully in the refrigerator so the marinade can soak into the meat properly before cooking.

To help seal in the flavor and moisture choose a fillet that has the skin still on one side. This will also provide a “safety-layer” between the fillet and the hot baking sheet to prevent it from overcooking!

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 8 minutes

Total Time 23 minutes

  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 4 salmon fillets 6 oz each
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley minced

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, lemon zest, and black pepper.

  • Gently season salmon filets with salt & pepper to taste. Add in the salmon and toss to combine and evenly coat.

  • Adjust oven rack 6-inches from the top and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.

  • Add the salmon, skin side down, to the baking sheet.

  • Broil for about 8-12 minutes or until the salmon has reached your desired doneness.

  • Sprinkle with parsley before serving.

The shape of your salmon filet will determine how long it needs to cook. A thicker filet will need longer while a thinner and flatter filet will need less time.

Salmon should be slightly translucent in the center and flake easily with a fork.

Broiled salmon cooks fillets more quickly. A 6-ounce portion of salmon needs to broil for 7 to 9 minutes only (check it at 6 minutes, just to be safe).
