How long should i bake frozen salmon

I’m a work at home mom who is all about saving time in the kitchen. Want to know how to cook frozen salmon in the oven in 15-20 minutes? I’ve got the recipe for you!  I always purchase wild Alaska seafood, just like my mother! My mom made salmon about 2 times a week while we were growing up. I never realized that when I shop in the store they actually sell “previously frozen salmon” for a “Great deal!”. You’re actually paying a bit more for their time in defrosting! I found that I can score an even better deal by buying it frozen and also save time by cooking it frozen too! I’ve also noticed that you can cook it just as well as if it was defrosted, just takes about 5-10 more minutes, instead of overnight defrosting. Don’t even get me started on the water bath defrosting. That not only takes time but such a waste of water. COOK IT FROZEN!®

CAN I COOK FROZEN SALMON

Yes! You can just ensure that your salmon reaches the correct temperature. We like our salmon fully cooked.

TEMPERATURE FOR SALMON

You’ll want the salmon internal temperature to reach 145°F. The USDA recommends a minimum internal temperature 145°F so that is what we go by. When measuring the internal temperature of salmon make sure you’re doing it into the thickest part of the salmon.

WHAT TEMPERATURE TO COOK SALMON

We cook our Frozen Salmon in a 400°F preheated oven.

Cooking frozen salmon saves you money and it tastes delicious.

Did you know that during the offseason when you purchase Wild Salmon it will often be previously frozen? Why not just save the money and learn how to bake frozen salmon right in the oven. 🙂

My mom would cook the salmon just as I cooked it today, but she’d also add a quarter stick of butter. While the butter was delicious, I’ll leave that for my cookie recipes. Salmon is such a rich fish filled with tons of omega fatty acids (HEART HEALTHY!) , that you really don’t need to add the butter. Instead I like to add lemon and lime juice! We always ate it with asparagus and white rice. I still serve salmon just like my mother did, just cooking it frozen instead of defrosting. I love making a healthy, nutritious and delicious meal in minutes for my family.

Whenever we purchase Salmon, it’s from Alaska! Just about 60% of all seafood in the U.S. comes from Alaska. We do not purchase any farm raised salmon. Alaska is known for their wild salmon, crab and white fish. The cold water and natural environment ensure that the fish is lean flesh, has a firm texture and is a high quality protein filled with flavor, vitamins, minerals and of course all those omega oils I was talking about! My mom also made a delicious whitefish salad that unfortunately she never was able to share with me.. it was so delicious! All of Alaska’s seafood is flash frozen right after it’s rapidly chilled after being caught from the icy water. It’s at peak freshness and ready for your family to cook and enjoy this Frozen to Fork meal.
