Juicy thick cut pork chops are simple to prepare and the result can rival any traditional beef steak. I’m not even kidding! And they are way cheaper to buy too. I call them my secret weapon when it comes to feeding a crowd on a special occasion.

Making a perfect pork chop is completely easy. If you haven’t had a thick cut pork chop before, well, prepare to fall in love with pork chops. Those thin, flimsy chops you see all over the grocery store dry out easily and lack the complete flavor pork chops have to offer.

You can buy a thick cut chop at almost any grocery, but you’ll probably have to ask for it. Just head on over to the meat counter and ask for a 1 1/2 to 2 inch thick cut pork chop. If you’ve got a good butcher, they will probably smile at your request. Keeping the bone-in helps retain both flavor and moisture, and cutting it thick practically ensures a juicy result.

How long does it take to bake a 1 inch thick pork chop?

Bake pork chops in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes for 1-inch thick boneless pork chops. The pork chops are done when the internal temperature measures 145° F on an instant read thermometer. (Thinner pork chops will cook faster, bone-in pork chops will take longer to cook. See notes.)

How long and at what temperature do you bake 1 inch pork chops?

A 1-inch thick, boneless pork chop will bake for 18-20 minutes at 375 degrees. A 1/2-inch thick pork chop will bake for 10-15 minutes at 375 degrees. The chops will then need to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Is it better to bake pork chops at 350 or 400?

However, in most cases, many agree that baking them at 350 degrees is optimal for sealing in all the natural juices. For smaller, boneless cuts of pork chops, it will take an average of 20-25 minutes to fully cook at 350 degrees. For larger, in-bone pork chops, it could take anywhere from 30-35 minutes.

How long do you bake 1 inch thick pork chops at 400?

At 400 degrees F you can count on 7 to 8 minutes for each 1/2 inch of thickness your pork chops are. So, 3/4-inch-thick chops will take 10 to 12 minutes, 1-inch-thick cooks in 15 to 16 minutes, and so on.
