Looks like 2 new and different types of the Rarebreed FRT. One by BDU called the BDU WOT and the other by the original patent holder, Graves. Both different than the Rarebreed FRT.

BDU WOT: https://www.wotar15.com/ - $299 BDU members, $350 non-members

HARDOXTM STEEL
The WOT has a patent-pending, spring-locking bar that makes the trigger unique. The trigger’s hammer is reinforced with Hardox steel, which due to its toughness, copes with shocks, jolts, bangs, nicks, and jabs day after day. This material allows the WOT to take the constant beating of the bolt carrier group (BCG) as it cycles back and forth in an AR-15 rifle or pistol.

The WOT is not capable of being a fully automatic trigger because the hammer is released by the locking bar and hits the firing pin.The firing pin then activates the primer on the brass casing which allows only one bullet to make its way out of the rifle with each pull of the trigger.

PATENT-PENDING SPRING CARRIER
The Wide Open Trigger (WOT) is a two-stage, hard-reset trigger that allows the user the ability to shoot faster, while still allowing only one single shot per trigger pull. The trigger is designed to shorten the length and time a trigger needs to reset itself, by using the elastic energy of the patent-pending spring carrier. When compressed, the spring carrier forces the trigger into a neutral or reset position.

In the AFT thread regarding Rare Breed, it was pointed out that the trigger isn't their original design. It's licensed to them.

Just saw this. That is interesting, and the guy has been working on it 50 years.

Why hasn't the AFT ever brought their issue to him? The only reason they don't like it is because so many were sold?

I've talked to a lot of people involved in the WOT over the past few days.

I can tell you it Is not MIM.

The trigger is manufactured using forged metal legure made by a die cast. Each part in the trigger is later machined, and hardened. The trigger is not made by metal injection molding. The process used to make the trigger is the same used to make engine parts for cars, since it will tolerate high temperatures, friction, and will not rust.  This is truly a higher quality process than almost any other trigger is produced.

There is a reason other triggers like this fail, when a corner is cut,  it creates problems later.  The engineer took all the fails from the other companies and in their own design,  fixed the other companies design flaws and were able to get a patent pending.

Also manufacturers like RBT never say anything about a warranty,  but the WOT comes with a warranty that is As long as your riffle lasts (so lifetime).  They are standing behind the product the way a company should.

This thing is rock solid.

Hey if it helps, I run Lead & Steel, and we just got a shipment of these things in. Full disclosure, I do have a vested interest, but the damned thing works pretty well. Just wish it didn't come in stainless. Not gonna link my site and derail the thread, but at $300, it's a touch cheaper than the Rare Breed (and a degree of separation further from the FRT BS).

Still, we are in an ammo shortage, so it's not like the $100 difference is gonna make a dent in the expenditure that is magdumping nowadays.

I for one applaud BDU for hopping on the "common use" train. Good on them.

thanks that is crazy. Also weird that the guy that made the video says in comments you don't have to modify anything trying to justify the price but in the video recommends rolling an edge on the bolt carrier. The rolling portion of the trigger makes a lot of sense, like my roller cam pin I run, but I don't see paying more than $300-$350 for one especially with small chance courts/ATF rules against rare breed. That would be a $1000 waste of money.

Interesting timing on the WOT and ART releases. Immediately after the AFT cease and desist.

So were these heavily researched and waiting to come out after the letter? Did these companies see a $400 trigger selling like hotcakes and copy with small tweaks?

I assume three different designs will help with the AFT fight, unless it just brings more heat against them. I'm interested to watch the show. Are the companies selling these two new triggers going to do their part in the defense? Is every trigger bought from a company other than Rare Breed potentially taking money from the fight to keep your $400 trigger? I sold mine to a random guy at a gunshow that I forgot to get the name or number of but would love for the design and legal fight to come out in our favor.

If there was a forced reset with a 3rd selector notch and a crisp 3 1/2ish pound single fire option I'd be all over it. The current options, with only forced reset dont interest me much. They do interest me, but not enough. The only way I see what's available being useful to me is if I built a cheap PSA and slapped that in there to waste ammo. I'm sure it would be fun as hell, but with ammo costs I'd rather have one that fits my above description and put it in an existing rifle. I'd still have everyday function with the option of going stupid now and then.

I can't agree with you more. I fell in the love with the FRT-15 but waited because I thought a competitor would soon release a trigger with a 3-position selector and take over market. So I am a little disappointed to see two new triggers coming to market and neither have the option to run without the assisted reset.

I'd pay more than the already fairly high price to have a 3rd position in a heartbeat, but I just can't justify buying the current offering. I'm sure if things go right in court and these become more mainstream one won't be far off, but until then I just can't see myself buying one. I came close, but it's just not there yet.

I think that's by design...

I would imagine the ATF would try to ban inertia... :)

That would be pretty neat but given that this is largely a novelty, I think having a dedicated lower with this trigger is the way forward.  I would never put anything like this in a serious use rifle.  Your mileage may vary.  Enjoy these things guys, they're freaking awesome.

Ah... you mean a TACCON 3MR that actually works.

That trigger did a forced reset.  But,one still had to get past  the disconnector.     The FRT uses a "locking  bar"  to manage the timing  instead.

That would be great. There needs to be a way a new safety selector to perhaps rotate the locking bar out of the way. Looking at my FRT 15 trigger I don't see how it could be done. I'm sure someone could figure it out.
