Can i use apple pay at the post office

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is certainly not mailing it in when it comes to payment security and convenience.

The USPS appears to be adding new card readers to its locations in a gradual rollout. The new card readers look to be Verifone M440 that give customers the option for contactless payment methods such as Apple Pay.

Below is an image thanks to a tip from Twitter user @echopulse that shows the card reader at their local USPS store.

According to the Twitter user, they did say that when they went to their USPS location in Abilene, Texas where the photo above was taken, the contactless was turned on and working.

By accepting Apple Pay, it would mean Apple Card users that make a purchase from their iPhone or Apple Watch in a USPS store would get 2% in Daily Cash on their purchase(s) too.

Last year, the USPS added Apple Pay support to its website that enabled users to purchase select products from USPS with that payment method.

Over the years, competitors like FedEx and UPS have also been seen to be adding Apple Pay support to their stores too.

Just in time for the holiday season, it looks like the United States Postal Service’s (USPS) is now accepting Apple Pay as a payment method.

The catch is that the payment method is currently only available on the USPS’s website.

However, this means that it will work when using features of the USPS such as The Postal Store, PO Box Online, Every Door Direct Mail, USPS Package Intercept/USPS Delivery Instructions, Pickup On Demand, Click-N-Ship, USPS Tracking Plus.

One of USPS’s competitors, FedEx, does support Apple Pay in its stores. At this time, UPS does not currently accept Apple Pay in its stores or online.

Apple Card customers, when using Apple Pay as a payment method and choose Apple Card, will get 2% in Daily Cash on their purchases.

In order to use Apple Pay on USPS’s website, customers must be using Safari on an iPhone, iPad or Mac.

At this time, there is no timeline for when USPS might bring Apple Pay support to its stores, but according to a recent tweet by @JordanMCarson on Twitter, it is not accepted there still.
