Jobs that pay $15 an hour with no experience near me

I realize that this varies somewhat by location but I’m looking for something like whole foods or Amazon where the national minimum for that company is at least 15.

If you don’t mind physically taxing work, consider carrying mail for the Postal Service. A lot of bigger city offices can’t keep enough employees hired, and they start around $17/hr nationally.

Depending on your location, you could be looking at a mandatory 60+ hr work week, which is great $ but not great for families. This is typically why people quit within their first couple of months.

Really varies by area. In my area for minimum wage ($12.50) they “require” a bachelors degree and drug/background check. This is for customer service/front desk positions.

I live in a rural area and 15 dollars per hour here is a really solid wage. The only jobs that pay that here for entry level work are manufacturing or meat packing.

level 1

Very seasonal job but a lot of political campaigns are hiring door-to-door canvassers for $15/hour.

I guess it depends. What part of the country are you in? Some entry level medical jobs can pay pretty well and all you need is a high school diploma. I used to recruit dialysis techs and the starting pay was good and the company would also pay for nursing school if you wanted to go.

level 2

How do you find an entry level medical job? I've applied to a ton ot postings through my local hospital but don't ever hear from them, so I'm wondering if there's another way. It seems like entry level medical jobs pay pretty well so I'd love to figure out how to crack into it.

Most of the online English teaching companies are around 20/hour if you have a degree or a TEFL (can be done via groupon for under $50 and maybe a weekend worth of time).

level 2

Really only 50$ !!

I have wasted a lot on it and didn't finish. I did it years earlier. Can you suggest some online schools that are accepted worldwide.

level 2

Have you done this? What was your experience?

I'm always amazed when I walk into a Buc-ees here in Texas and they have a sign for hiring, claiming starting pay at 15 I believe. Also 3 weeks vaca and 401k.

Anyone here work at Buc-ees who can confirm this?

level 2

I used to work there and usually what they have advertised is true. Starting wage does vary though depending on the area. I worked at one in a rural area and the starting was $12 an hour. Each departments wage varied from $12-$14 (cashier, deli, gifts,). You also get paid more for working overnights. The benefits are good too.

level 1

People make money teaching English online. There are upsides and downsides to it, like anything else. You are "self-employed" so if you can swing $20 a hour doing it eventually, that might translate into $15 an hour after paying the taxes. Some make more than $20 a hour.

Also, there's writing jobs, but you will probably want/need a degree for that. Those can be entry-level then turn into a career.

I realize you seem to want a retail job, but good to keep an open mind.

level 2

Do you teach online? I'm looking into getting into this now. I even rented an apartment which we'll be moving into in a few days with an extra bedroom just for this purpose. Teaching online or some other online remote job. I live in Europe though,...

Costco pays 17 on weekdays and 23 on weekends, but I'm talkin San Jose Costco here. All you need to do is pass the drug test

Might not be the most glamorous, but Oil field work. Things are booming right now, and so its a decent time to start.

Any trade. Even non union shops pay 15 or well over 15 for work. At least where I live.

Inside sales, easily over 15 an hour.

Do you have a college degree? Associate project managers start at 25 where I live. Training included.

You really just need to look into who are the big employers where you live and look into what type of work is done.

Working in Los Angeles is a lot different then Alberta farm Idaho.

Construction labour, depending on your area.

Here in Canada, many concrete crews will pay guys 18-20/hour just for showing up on time and following basic instructions. No background checks. No drug testing. No previous experience required.

It's very physically taxing work (which can actually be viewed as an upside as you won't need to pay for a gym membership), but it pays well and can increase up to $35/hour after a 4-5 years if you learn how to finish concrete correctly (not that difficult).

Is it pretty easy to pick up? I’m interested in the money but not what you’d call handy.
