3 mo ago I added a Eurocompulsion air induction kit in red.
I
bought this used 2 weeks ago and noticed one of the lines connecting to the factory air filter housing had been snapped off and glued back on. Darn luck that I just had to put something better in to fix it. My wife originally thought I should get the black kit as the vehicle is black, but after I installed the red kit she agreed it was the better choice.

3 mo ago Looks great, how does it sound? I am not sure I noticed a sound difference. I will upgrade the exhaust at some point for that.

Discussion Starter · #7 · 2 mo ago A little follow up on the Eurocompulsion intake. A few days after the initial install I got a CEL. P1CEA (Boost side EVAP purge system performance). Eurocompulsion verified I installed it correctly and sent a different "evap kit" (the tee). I cleared the codes, installed the replacement tee, and drove it a few days. The code came back. Eurocompulsion had
me clear the code again and leave the battery disconnected overnight. After a few days the code came back. I wanted to verify where the problem was but did not want to put the old filter box back in. So I removed the tee from the upper portion of the filter box and used that.
I have driven the vehicle for a few weeks with no CEL. I will probably just leave it as is (if it ain't broke...). How much horsepower does a cold air intake add to a Jeep?Typically, when paired with a larger, less restrictive exhaust system, you can achieve an increase in horsepower from 1-5 hp. An additional benefit of using a cold air intake is a slight increase in fuel economy.
Do I need a tune if I add cold air intake?Yes. To put it simply, anytime you modify the airflow in an engine you will need a custom tune to compensate for the change. There are intakes that don't modify the airflow enough to where you need a custom tune so identifying which one you have is important.
What does cold air intake system by Mopar do?Cold Air Intake System - Mopar (68239826AA)
This easy-to-install, bolt-on system is designed to allow cooler outside air through a directional cone filter and funnel directly into the intake manifold.
Are cold air intakes OK in the winter? There's also the worry of when you warm up your car before a commute, as it could increase the amount of fuel usage and raise the cost of everyday use. With that in mind, it's clear why, without the proper precautions, it's bad to use cold air intake in winter.
