The brake lights on your 2011 Jeep Liberty illuminate when you hit the brake pedal and help prevent you from being rear ended by the cars behind you. Brake light bulbs grow dimmer over time and eventually burn out. This video shows you how to change the brake lights on your 2011 Jeep Liberty. When you replace the brake light bulb on your Liberty, be careful not to touch the bulb directly with your fingers - the oil from your skin will cause the area that you touched to burn hotter than the rest of the bulb, which causes the bulb to burn out quicker.

If you are going to replace a bulb in your cluster, it is a good idea to replace all of them. Not only will the lights on your Liberty be brighter, you decrease the likelihood you will need to change any of the bulbs again in the near future. A burnt out bulb in the taillight cluster of your Liberty is an excuse for a police officer to pull you over. Check your bulbs frequently and change burnt bulbs promptly.

What kind of bulb does a brake light use?

The most common bulb used in automotive tail light and brake light applications is the 1157 bulb.

What is brake light Jeep Liberty?

Bad Switch: One common reason for the Parking Brake light to stay on is a failing or failed switch. This can be checked easily by jiggling the handle after it is down. If the light turns off (or turns off and then back on), the switch is the most likely culprit and will need to be replaced.

Which bulb on tail light is brake light?

The main difference between tail lights and brake lights is that the former lights up as soon as the headlights are turned on, while the latter only engages upon stepping on the brake pedal. While both lights are red, brake lights tend to emit a more luminous red light.
