How much is it to spay a cat?

Private vets cost anywhere from $200–$400 for a spay/neuter procedure. You also have the option to bring your kitty to a lower-cost clinic. These are typically run by nonprofits and all surgeries are performed by licensed veterinarians. You'll probably take your cat home the same day they receive treatment.

Can I fix my cat myself?

Also, keep in mind that you must have your cat castrated by a veterinarian, and it's illegal to perform the procedure on your own. If you're worried about the cost of having your cat castrated, reach out to a veterinary clinic or animal welfare charity and inform them of your situation.

Do I need to get my indoor cat fixed?

We recommend spaying or neutering your indoor cat around five to eight months, but all ages should receive this care. We are here to help you with a custom wellness plan through all stages of your cat's life.

How long does it take for cat to recover from neutering?

For neuter procedures, it typically takes your cat 5 -7 days to recover. It's important to monitor for any of the signs above and contact your vet if you notice any lingering or worsening symptoms. While they are healing, do not let your cat run, jump, or play with other animals. It is important that they rest.
