A story of hurt and lonely people coming together and finding one another. Also it included My Little Pony, which was cool, as I'm a fan. I just was reminded how I really wanted to be adopted into a loving family by this movie, which is why I cried. I'm glad the Captain didn't abandon them all to CPS since that could lead to more abandonment or even getting raped in foster care, as many have been. Most people are nice to kids or women for a few days and then they just throw them out and never see them again and just go back to their lives. So I was glad when he decided to adopt the kids and also glad that he wanted to marry the frog biologist and have a family, like his dad, I'm glad the other 3 men were up for it. :) I liked seeing them each bond with one special kid in the family. Men shouldn't just live their lives as hermits in the woods saving people day and night, they need kids and women and pets around too. It's too lonely to be a man by yourself in the woods or even a group of men. It leads to the objectification of women solely for the way their naked bodies look, like the calendar girl that the one guy had to take down when the children were sleeping in the bunks. I like that they painted one of the ponies on the fire station wall. That was cool. :) I don't care if it wasn't up to code. Let Princess Celestia rule the fire house lol. I like what they were learning about friendship. :) I miss that they didn't invite Jesus into their marriage because they got married at a courthouse. I sense they never experienced religion. I hope they find a church, then they won't feel so lonely. I also find the frog biologist super relatable because of how she constantly moved and had no way of talking to her probably abusive parents and no kids her age would talk to her, so instead she talked to frogs and aquatic wildlife, and read a lot of books to teach herself biology and know how to relate to her aquatic friends. I hope she gets therapy, because clearly she needs it. Probably the chief could use some therapy too. And the kids. But somehow everyone found each other and became family, and I loved how the silent strong axe carrying fireman turned out to be an opera singer who expresses himself in song :) of course he would love My Little Pony. It's written in the form of a musical, with musical theater as the inspiration. Just look at how "At The Gala" was written :) All us musical theater buffs can recognize this style of music. It makes me want to know more about this guy and the songs he likes and how he came to sing so well. :) But he needs to stop threatening people with his axe cause that is not cool. :( Hopefully he learns some conflict resolution skills that involve speaking. :) Watch this movie. But that wasn’t how they played it. The main character kept the too-serious tone throughout the movie, everything was heavy-handed and obvious set-ups for too-easy slapstick comedy that only work if you ignore basic physics and common sense. 100% predictable plot, and the in-your-face product placement for Kleenex and My Little Pony (over and over and over, as other reviewers mentioned) was just weird. I really enjoyed the entire movie and it made me laugh, and feel happy to see the values that came from the entire movie, that we can be a family and have a happy future when we learn to live like a true family. You spent a few dollars, perhaps it was not what you expected. So what, you spent a few dollars and it is a kids movie.
