Recommendation letters are hard to write only if you are unable to give the reference honestly.

But if you can be honest about them, they are fairly easy to write.

If you have been asked to write one for a professor coworker, it is important to first gather all the information that you will need.

For instance, your colleague should provide you with information on why a recommendation is required in the first place.

This is important because you need to have this information so that a correlating recommendation can be provided.

Specifically, your recommendation letter, in this case, will need to highlight your colleague’s excellent knowledge of the subject that he or she teaches.

Since writing about the personality of your colleague is important, make sure that you know him or her well before you agree to write a recommendation letter.

Recommendation Letter for Colleague Professor

September 6, 2022

To Whom It May Concern

I am writing this recommendation letter in support of my colleague Mr. Jack Septiceye, who is an English literature professor at the University of York. I have been working with Mr. Septiceye for 10 years.

Mr. Septiceye has been a great role model many times owing to his exceptional take on the subject matter, and the general view of the world. He is a thorough gentleman, who has often been commended on his mannerism, and positive relationships with students and peers. Hosting a pleasant personality, he is easily reachable, and has been a great source of help during my initial days at the university, and even now.

As a professor, Mr. Septiceye is exceptional at his work. His lectures are thoroughly researched and tactfully imparted. And I have known many students to praise him for his reachability. Moreover, he is pleasant by nature, which makes it easy for both students and peers to work with him for long periods of time.

During one particular incident, Mr. Septiceye helped me tremendously with a literary piece that I was researching, making it possible for me to meet my deadline. He always goes the extra mile for his students and colleagues.

Having worked with Mr. Septiceye for so long, I cannot help but feel a bit lost about his decision to move on with his career. Nonetheless, I wish him all the best in his future endeavors and recommend him highly.

Please feel free to contact me at (000) 123-789 if you need any further information.

Sincerely,

Brittany Pillar
Professor of French Literature
University of York
