Prayer’s of the Faithful for October 2022 Super User 2022-09-30T12:37:14+01:00

The Local Church Executive Committee (LCEC) will be installed on 9 October 2022, at the 10am Worship Service on Laity Sunday. The names of the LCEC 2022/2023 members are listed in the PDF document below.

What does the LCEC do?

Have general oversight of the programme of the local church in pursuing the primary task of the local church.

– Book of Discipline of the Methodist Church in Singapore

They help our church live out our vision statement:

We at KKMC will be Faithful Disciples in Authentic Community engaged in Loving Outreach and Bold Witness to the Glory of God!

Responsibilities of KKMC LCEC

  • Assume responsibilities for the administration of KKMC
  • Perform tasks for the welfare of KKMC and the advancement of the Kingdom of God
  • Assist the pastors in counselling and leadership of the spiritual and temporal life of the church
  • Above all, live a life before all persons as becomes the Gospel

What does the KKMC LCEC commit to do?

With God’s help, the KKMC LCEC will:

  • Be diligent in prayer and the reading of Holy Scriptures and other studies necessary for their role
  • Seek to accomplish the work and service of their role, to the honour and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ

Please pray for our church leaders regularly

I urge then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, and intercession and thanksgiving be made all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

-1 Tim 2: 1-2

What are some prayers of the faithful?

We pray for peace in the midst of violence and tragedy in this world. May we have the patience to be understanding, the strength to be forgiving and the grace to admit when we are wrong. We pray to the Lord. Loving God, you sent you sent your only Son to show us how to live a life of love and compassion.

What is a good prayer to say everyday?

Lord, I give you all that I am this day. Please brush away my weariness, so that I may be inspired in my work. Help me to discover new ways to reveal your love to all I meet. Keep my mind clear and focused on all I need to achieve, and give me the wisdom to overcome difficulties and find solutions.

How do you end a Prayer of the Faithful?

They usually take the form of a series of short prayers (two or three succinct sentences) which close with members of the congregation saying a short affirming phrase such as "Lord hear our prayer" or "Lord hear us" after each request.

Why do we say prayers of the faithful?

The Prayer of the Faithful represents the antechamber of the Eucharistic part of the liturgy and it helps us enter a prayerful and intercessory frame of mind. It's our last response to the Word of God that's just been heard. We've responded in faith through the Creed, now we respond in prayer for others.
