Most Combo Units will automatically run a spin cycle before the DRY cycle begins. This is important because the washer will attempt to extract as much water as possible from the clothing before it begins to dry. This process may add an additional 14 minutes to the cycle any time the dry setting is chosen.

To perform a DRY ONLY cycle:

Press the POWER button to turn on the washer.
Press the DRY button until the desired dry level or time is selected.
Press the START/PAUSE button to begin the cycle.

For LG front load washers, turn the unit on and without touching the selector dial move to the spin speed selection button. Next, press the button until you see your desired spin speed highlighted. Then press the Start button. The unit will drain any excess water before it spins.

Why won't my LG washer dryer combo dry my clothes?

Water is needed in order for a combo model washer to perform the dry function. This is completely different from how a standard dryer would work. With a LG combo unit, cold water is used to condense the moisture in the air. If water is not supplied to the unit, the clothes will not be dried.
