Two-Ingredient Slime Recipe Without Glue

This is a super simple, glue-free slime recipe! You only need two ingredients. We don’t use shaving cream or baking soda like traditional slime recipes. Make slime with shampoo, salt and these supplies. You’ll see there is no borax, no cornstarch, no contact solution or even liquid starch.

  • salt
  • 3-in-1 Shampoo/Conditioner/Body wash (the thicker the better)
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • bowl
  • spoon
  • freezer

How to Make Slime With Shampoo

First, measure about 1/4 cup 3-in-1 Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash into a bowl.  Next, add in 1/8 teaspoon salt. Stir well.

You will see it forming into a ball. Just put it in the freezer for 10 minutes. Then remove from the freezer—and begin playing!

Slime Without Glue Tips

  • It looks “gross,” but this slime smells amazing!
  • It does start to disintegrate a bit when you are playing with it. But it would be super fun bath-time slime. As it breaks down, it makes a bubble bath instead of a mess.
  • If the slime is too sticky, add a few more grains of salt. It doesn’t take much.
  • If your hands are really hot, this slime tends to melt quickly.
  • No need for food coloring, since the shampoo gives it a nice color.

This is not a stretchy or fluffy slime. It is more of a bouncy, jiggly slime.  Check out the slime video to see the consistency of the slime without glue.

Edible Slime

How about a DIY slime without glue that is edible and yummy? The best part of this recipe is that it uses gummy bears! Delish!

To make this slime, just empty one package of gummy bears into a microwave safe mixing bowl. We found glass is the easiest to clean up. Melt gummy bears for about 10-15 seconds until they lose their shape.

Next, stir in 1 tablespoon powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and mix well.  Stir and knead in powdered sugar and cornstarch in equal amounts, until it forms a slimy consistency.

The more you add, the less sticky the slime will be—but also the more you add, the thicker and less stretchy it will be. Try adding in a tiny bit of oil (about 1 teaspoon) for a super stretchy slime. This is for sure a type of slime your kids will love.
