How to adjust headlights on a jeep wrangler

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly adjustable, well constructed, complete package

Why four stars and not five? Overall, I am happy with these adapters, and they do there job, mostly. The one issue that I have with them is that they don’t push the 7” light all the way forward, now to be fair, the stock 9” lenses sit back and Leave a gap between the grill. The rubber rings supplied with these, help to fill that gap, and make you hope that it won’t be there, but it is. I had to install 1/2” spacers and longer bolts to get these to sit forward, up against the grill. The build quality of the adapter rings is good. The are highly adjustable, more so than the stock lights. They include a wiring adapter, which I needed. They include the rubber rings to help close the gap. These are good, and are probably some of the best value of the adapter rings out there.Oh, install your light and rubber rings in the bench, before installing the complete unit in you Jeep.

These brackets are well made and the rubber rings really make the installation look much cleaner than some of the other options on the market that seem to cost more than these. The only room for improvement is that if you are using a typical LED light then the gap between the bumper cut out and the light is more than factory gap. I corrected that by using 4 1/4" flat washers for each of the three mounting bolts ($2.16 at Ace) and that pushed the lights to near flush with the bumper cut out. You can see in the pics what the gap is with and without the washers - acceptable without but I'm picky and the washers was a cheap and easy mod. Seller is great to work with - one of my initial wiring adapters didn't work so they quickly shipped 2 new ones just in case so now I have a spare. Overall I think this is probably the best option at the best price if you want to run 7" LED lights on your JL Wrangler.

Bought these brackets along with the Trucklite/Rigid 7" LED headlights. Had these on my previous Jeep which was a JK, so I figured I'd run them again. However, the Trucklites do not seem to work with these brackets, more specifically the ring piece that sandwiches the light to the main part of the bracket, as the Trucklite housing goes to a wider round piece on its housing. I then purchased some JW Speaker lights and those seemed to work. The wiring harness that comes with these was nice though as it does have the JL harness side to plug into the factory harness on the Jeep. I had to cut the other end off and solder to the JW speaker wiring after cutting off the JW Speaker harness which would plug into a JK harness. Screwing the lights to these brackets was kinda a pain but everything does work! They also do have adjustment screws to adjust the lights, which I still have to do. All in all I'm happy with this product.

RUBBER RING SHOULD BE A LITTLE MORE SNUG WITH LONGER SCREWS, OTHER THAN THAT IT DOES THE WORK.

UPDATE: Seller contacted me and offered to provide a replacement and also compensate my time spent screwing with the messed up piece to get it to work. I think it was just a one off bad part, nothing wrong with the actual design itself.

Works alright. But one of the mounting bracket holes had bad threads and the screws wouldn't go in. Ended up picking up a amaller screw, washer, and nut with a locking nut to secure the light mounting bracket.

It’s a little clumsy trying to balance everything and get the screws started around that rubber ring. Other than that, it’s fairly simple. About an hour and a half from taking the grill off and and replacing the headlights to closing the hood. Pre-assemble the lights before trying to put it into your ride! Also, I’m going to have to buy some washers and longer bolts to fill in that atrocious gap. From what i can tell, it doesn’t appear other brands of brackets have this problem. It i could do it again, I’d buy a different bracket.

Side note: if trying to wire DRL out of the fuse box, JLs use micro fuses so make sure you get the tiny ones and fuse tap.

Modified to install 2018 wrangler lights on liberty. Worked great thick metal. Good adjustability. Worked well for me

How do you aim a jeep headlight?

The top of the brightest part of your headlight beam should be right at the center of your plus marking, or just below. If that is not the case, grab your torx screwdriver, locate your vertical adjustment screw, and adjust either clockwise or counter-clockwise, depending on the direction you need the beam to move.
