Aug 18, 2016 Im going to be as breif as possible with this but if your trying to decide on whether or not to use line-x save yourself the headache and DONT. All together line X is basically over priced, permanent (or you will have to pay to get it burned off), and DOESNT HONOR THEIR SO
CALLED LIFETIME WARRANTY. Don't make the same mistake I did and stick to good old fashioned powder coat. It's tried and true and the people who do it typically know what the hell their doing. Line X is a scam of a product and I will never use it for anything again. Joined Jan 14, 2016 · 71 Posts

+1 for powder coating. My PSC and JCR bumpers look great 2 years later. Joined Jul 21, 2013 · 408 Posts
Damn that sucks bro. I bet that they did not prep the surface at all. Even though no primer is needed, most bare metal parts like that have a oily film to minimize flash rusting. When I got my crusher corners from PSC I washed them a couple of times to remove, then once dried I use denatured alcohol to wipe down before I had a liner sprayed on them. The
shop also did the same thing. It has been about 12 years and no problems at all. Joined Aug 14, 2016 · 477 Posts
I had a full sized GMC truck and I did the bed... but I can't remember if it was Line-X or Rhino Liner. Whatever it was I remember it was extremely tough. I dropped something in the bed, denting the bed, and the liner stayed attached to the sheetmetal. They may have done something wrong while applying yours, I would talk to the manufacturer and see if
they'll stand behind their product. Joined Mar 30, 2011 · 1,231 Posts
Their price is enough for me to avoid. I walked out laughing when I went in for a quote on a Poison Spyder stubby front. Cost more to spray than the bumper itself.

An alternative to Line-X I am a repeat customer to Camoliner out of Denton TX and they do great work and stand behind their product and service. I had my Gobi rack sprayed last year and it still looks like new. I had my whole rig sprayed a few weeks ago and love their work. If you want it done right the first time then check out
these folks. Joined Nov 2, 2015 · 200 Posts
Had Line-X applied to my RAM truck bed in 2007 in West Palm Beach, I use my bed and do not baby it, I throw all kinds of tools and crap in the back and while the sun has faded it some, I have not had and chips or peeling. Joined Feb 4, 2015 · 886 Posts
All polyurethane bed liners will protect your truck. Their effectiveness is really dependent on the applicator. I have always found that the franchise guys, in general, do not match the quality of work of the independent operators. I used to drive a truck that would actually deliver the chemicals to the applicators, and it is just like a painter or any
other labor intensive service provider. They can vary greatly, and you really need to look at their previous projects, in person, to decide if they can provide the work that you want.

All about the prep work. Crummy customer service is a huge turnoff for business but I have had line X on 3 different vehicles over 10 years and never had a problem with any of them. And I beat the crap out of mine. Surface should be washed, sanded, degreased, alcohol, etch primed and then coated. I'd bet none of that was done. I'd be upset too. Joined Jul 20, 2012 · 2,212 Posts
When I bought my new Ford F350 4wd in 2006, I had them Line-X the bed and tailgate interior. Other than going from a new shiny finish to a matte black, it still adheres well and works perfectly, even with loads of rock, sand, lumber, scrap materials, elk, and other materials carried in the bed. Just like expensive house paint, if the surface
isn't prepped correctly, the job will look horrible in a short time and the expensive paint was wasted. Joined Nov 3, 2013 · 175 Posts
Just looking at the pics, I'd say they didn't prep the metal in any way at all before applying the liner. It looks like it wasn't even cleaned or sanded at all. No way anything could ever stick to that. And for aluminum, you'd need a self-etching primer in order to get PAINT to stick, let alone a liner. The problem is with the installers more than the

It's all about prep and application... How much is it to get a Jeep Rhino lined? For example, the cost of applying Line-X across your entire car is between $3,000 to $5,000—about the same price as Rhino Liner.

Rhino Liner vs Other Liners.. How much does it cost to Bedline whole car?The process doesn't come cheap, however. The total body spray's cost at Line-X varies, ranging generally from $3,000 to $5,000. That compares with $450 to $550 for a standard bedliner spray, Liveoak says. Still, it should last the lifetime of the vehicle, she adds.
How much does a rhino spray liner cost? The Rhino Liner
Cost averaged around $455 for parts and installation. Not all authorized sellers had the same equipment to spray in this bed liner, so they get applied differently from one installer to the next. It would seem that the results could vary based on how the installer applies the bed liner.
