Q: Is it free to transfer from Coinbase to Coinbase wallet?

We dont charge for transferring crypto from one Coinbase users primary balance to another users primary balance. For transactions on cryptocurrency networks (i.e., transfers of cryptocurrency off the Coinbase platform), Coinbase incurs and pays network transaction fees (e.g., miners fees).

Although your Coinbase and Coinbase Pro accounts are linked, they have their own separate wallets. Transfers from Coinbase to Coinbase Pro are free.

Deposits to Coinbase is available on the Pro mobile app by going to the Portfolios page and tapping Deposit in the top right-hand corner.

To transfer funds from your Coinbase wallet to your Pro wallet, follow these steps:

Go to the Coinbase Pro trading page.
Select Deposit under Wallet Balance (a pop up window will appear).
Select the currency type (i.e. BTC, ETC) that you’d like to add cash to Pro from Coinbase.
Select Coinbase Account.
Enter the amount you would like to add cash to Pro from Coinbase. Please note that you will only be able to add funds that are “Available to deposit” .
Select Deposit at the bottom of the window.

To transfer funds from your Pro wallet to your Coinbase wallet, follow these steps:

Go to the Coinbase Pro trading page.
Select Withdraw under Wallet Balance (a pop up window will appear).
Select the currency type (i.e. BTC, ETC) that you’d like to cash out from Pro to Coinbase
Select Coinbase Account.
Enter the amount you would like to cash out from Pro to Coinbase.
Select Withdraw at the bottom of the window.

Important Note: Transfers between Pro and Coinbase count towards your Pro cashout limit. Requests to increase your Pro cashout limit can be submitted on your limits page.

Why are my funds on hold?

If you’re seeing Funds on Hold, it means that these funds are subject to a Coinbase cashout hold and cannot be transferred to Coinbase Pro yet. Although you can use these funds to buy or sell on Coinbase.com (not on Coinbase Pro), transfers or cashouts are restricted until the hold period is done. When you place a sell order or cash out USD to a US bank account, the money usually arrives within 1-5 business days (depending on cashout method). The delivery date will be shown on the Trade Confirmation page before your order is submitted. You can see when the funds are expected to arrive on your History page. If you reside in one of the states that supports the Coinbase USD balance, sells into your USD balance will occur instantly.

European Customers

Since your local currency is stored within your Coinbase account, all buys and sells occur instantly. Cashing out to your bank account via SEPA transfer generally takes 1-2 business days. Cashout by wire should complete within one business day.

United Kingdom Customers

Since your local currency is stored within your Coinbase account, all buys and sells occur instantly. Withdrawing to your bank account via GBP bank transfer generally completes within one business day.

Canadian Customers

You can sell cryptocurrency instantly using PayPal to move funds out of Coinbase.

Australian Customers

You can sell cryptocurrency instantly to a linked bank account.

Singaporean Customers

You can sell cryptocurrency instantly to a supported credit or debit card.

Selling or withdrawal using PayPal:

Customers in the US, Europe, UK, and CA, will be able to withdraw or sell cryptocurrency instantly using PayPal. To see what regional transactions are allowed and payout limits, please visit the PayPal FAQ.

For eligible customers, when digital currency is sold using a linked PayPal account as the Payout Method, the funds are credited instantly. You'll wait seconds instead of days to receive your money.

US Customers

For US customers, Coinbase uses the ACH bank transfer system for transfers to your bank account. The ACH bank transfer system typically takes 3-5 business days to complete after initiating a sell or withdrawal. Coinbase will deduct the balance from your source of funds and begin the bank transfer immediately.

Business days

"Business days" means Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. Bank holidays and weekends are not counted as business days. When you place an order in the evening, the ACH transfer is not started until the following business day. Your transaction details will always show the estimated completion date of your order taking all these factors into account.

ACH transfers usually complete by the end of the business day - 11:59 PM PT, as Coinbase is based in San Francisco, CA.

European Customers

Can I transfer from Coinbase to Coinbase wallet immediately?

Yes you can transfer funds between both products at any time. You can link your Coinbase.com account to Coinbase Wallet from the settings page of your Coinbase Wallet app. Connecting your accounts allows you to quickly and easily move funds between your Coinbase.com and Coinbase Wallet accounts.
