How do you stop auto posting from facebook to instagram

While I don’t recommend always posting the same content on both Facebook and Instagram, sometimes it can be a good idea to do so, especially when the content ideas are running dry.

Luckily, there’s a few options to quickly post the same content to Facebook and Instagram at the same time.

How to post from Facebook to Instagram automatically

Facebook has recently made it easy to post to Facebook and Instagram at the same time. When you’re making a new post on Facebook, Facebook now gives you an option to cross post to Instagram. Here’s how it works.

Step 1: Connect your Instagram to Facebook

The first thing you’ll need to do is connect your Instagram profile to your Facebook page. You can do this by going to Settings on your Facebook page and selecting Instagram in the left sidebar.

From here, connecting your Instagram account is as simple as logging in to your account.

Step 2: Select Instagram when posting to Facebook

Now when you’re making a post on Facebook, you’ll be able to select Instagram as an additional destination for your post.

Now every time you want to automatically post from Facebook to Instagram, make sure Instagram is selected when making a new post on Facebook.

How to boost a post from Facebook to Instagram automatically

Another way to share a post from Facebook to Instagram is to boost it, which is a feature Facebook offers that allows you to pay to have your post seen by more people.

At the moment, Facebook doesn’t offer the ability for users to boost a Facebook post and show it on Instagram, but there are third party tools that make it really easy, like Revealbot.

Step 2: Set up auto post boosting

Once your account is set up, you can click Auto post boosting in the left sidebar. From here you can start creating your first automation.

First, select your Facebook page as the source and the types of posts you’d want your automation to consider for auto post boosting. I chose photos and videos.

Then choose the conditions in which a post needs to meet in order to be auto boosted. You can set conditions where all have to be true or just one has to be true. I chose to auto boost posts if it has more than 10 likes or a 1% click-through-rate.

Next you can configure the exact placement of your auto boosted post. In our example, I’m going to choose just Instagram feed, stories, and explore so that my Facebook posts are shared to Instagram.

The last step would be configure the setup for your campaign and ad set your auto boosted posts will appear in the Facebook Ads Manager. Once you’re done and set it live, any Facebook post that meets your conditions will be auto boosted to Instagram.

You can’t share an existing post from Facebook to Instagram if the post is already published on your Facebook page. When you attempt to share a post on your Facebook page, you can see there are no options to share to Instagram:

You have two options to post to Instagram from Facebook:

1. Delete the Facebook post and repost it while selecting Instagram as an additional destination for your post
2. Manually take the copy the content and make a new post from the Instagram app
