Hello, my name is Joe. I am a Sales Representative and former Maintenance Technician at Standard Heating & Air Conditioning. Today I am going to show you how to set up the 3 most common settings on your Honeywell T-6 Programmable Thermostat.

T-6 Programmable Honeywell Thermostat Setup

1. System Setting

To change system settings, touch the mode button on the left hand side of the thermostat.
To switch from heating to cooling, or to turn everything off continue to press the mode button until you have found your desired selection.

2. Temperature

To change the temperature, touch the plus (+) or minus (-) button on either side of your thermostat.
To change fan operation find the fan button in the right hand corner of your thermostat, press that button until you have found your desired setting.

3. Scheduling Preferences

To update your scheduling preference, touch the menu button in the middle of the bottom of your screen.
The first option that will show up is programming, press select.
It will then ask if you would like to select on, press select again.

To Set your schedule:

Touch MENU on the thermostat display, select SCHEDULE

Each Day / Period will be displayed. Touch SELECT to edit each period.

Touch the TIME displayed and use the +/ - icons to adjust the start time for the desired period (adjustable in 15-minute increments). Touch the TEMPERATURE displayed to adjust the desired heating or cooling temperature (Touch the TEMPERATURE display again to alternate between the cooling and heating temperature setting) Press SELECT when complete.

After adjusting the TEMPERATURE and TIME for each schedule day and period, DONE will be displayed on the screen. Touch SELECT to save your new schedule

To Modify your schedule:

Touch MENU on the thermostat display, select SCHEDULE

Each Day / Period will be displayed. Touch < or > to locate the desired period you wish to edit.

Touch SELECT to edit each period.

Touch the > icon until DONE is displayed. Touch SELECT to save your settings.

Press up or down to immediately adjust the temperature. This will temporarily override the temperature setting for the current time period. “Temporary” will appear on the display and the current program period will flash. The new temperature will be used until the next period begins.

To permanently ignore the schedule, press up or down until the desired temperature is displayed. Then, press the Hold button to maintain the new temperature indefinitely. The word Hold will appear on the screen.

Press the Run button if you wish to cancel either override and resume the schedule. The word Hold will disappear and the thermostat will be set to the temperature programmed for the current period. Also ensure that the heat - off - cool switch is set to the desired run mode.

Remember, after you set the desired setpoint and select your desired hold the thermostat will change back from displaying your setpoint to the room temperature. This is normal. Allow your heating or cooling system to reach your setpoint over time.

Why can't I change the temperature on my Honeywell thermostat?

When Honeywell thermostat not reaching set temperature happens, reboot the thermostat. Turn off power to the thermostat for ten to twenty seconds. Then turn it back on. This is easy with many smart models because they can detach from furnace power.

What is the default temperature on a Honeywell thermostat?

The default thresholds for temperature are pre-set at 45°F or 7.5°C and at 100° F or 38°C and you may change the settings in the Lyric app. The default thresholds for humidity are pre-set at 20% and at 70% and you may change the settings in the Lyric app.
