German Shorthaired Pointers

 Who We Are

Our German Shorthaired Pointers are AKC registered with incredibly strong pedigrees.  Our Shorthairs are family and hunting dogs.  They have also excelled at field trials and hunt tests.

Currently we have puppies, started, & finished dogs for sale.  We also have two training spots available starting March 1st.  We train our dogs on live birds & use the Dave Walker training method.  Current training rates are $250/month (At this time, only pointing dog breeds).  Also available, Trenkamp's Rock Solid Raiden (pictured above) available for stud.

We are located in North Central Iowa along the beautiful, scenic Wapsipican River, approximately 1 hour drive from Cedar Rapids, IA., 2 hours from Dubuque, IA., and 40 min drive from Waterloo, IA.  We are also able to ship our puppies and dogs!

German Shorthaired Pointers were first bred as all-around, companionable hunting dogs. GSPs possess high energy, a strong prey drive, and athletic prowess. A GSP makes a great family dog, but be prepared for shedding and shenanigans.

GSPs bark at strangers and noises. They also are a bit reserved with strangers. Female GSPs typically are very protective of their puppies if they have a litter.

Do GSP dogs shed a lot?

German Shorthaired Pointers are not considered to be heavy shedders. They shed a mild to a medium amount, compared to other breeds. Their coat sheds mostly in the spring and fall. In warmer climates, a German Shorthaired Pointer may shed consistently throughout the year.
