The Koch Multi-Pleat XL8 MERV 8 furnace filter model 102-041-015 is a high performance disposable replacement air filter for all Bryant, Carrier and Payne gas and oil furnaces, heat pump and AC air handlers that use a 18 x 20 x 1 air filter. This filter has the same efficiency rating as the original manufacturer's reusable filter, with the convenience of a disposable. The size of the 102-041-015 replacement air filter is approximately 17 1/2" x 19 1/2" x 3/4". Show The Koch Multi-Pleat XL8 MERV 8 disposable air filters feature a filtering medium that is more efficient and ecologically friendly than most other air filters on the market. Made entirely from recycled materials, this medium achieves MERV 8 efficiency with low resistance to airflow. It is also unaffected by high humidity and is hydrophobic (non-moisture absorbing). Koch Multi-Pleat XL8 MERV 8 air filters can upgrade existing flat panels as well as MERV 6 & 7 pleated filters currently being used with little increase in resistance. All Multi-Pleat XL8 filters are 30-35% efficient by ASHRAE 52.1-92 and MERV 8 per ASHRAE 52.2-99. Diagonal and horizontal support members provide frame strength and the filter media pack is sealed to eliminate air bypass. The Koch Multi-Pleat XL8 filters are UL 900 Class 2 listed.
The Koch 102-041-015 air filter media should be checked every month. Adjust the schedule to your needs, but at least replace the filter every three months. The pleated filter cartridge is glued to the peripheral interior of the outer frame with a vinyl adhesive, preventing air by-pass.The face of the die cut is internally glued to the apexes of the pleats to insure maximum endurance under adverse conditions. Does furnace filter need to be exact size?Why is it so important to choose the correct filter size? Too small - air can leak out the sides of your filter, meaning dust/particles will not be trapped. Too big - your filter may not even fit where it is supposed to go.
What are standard sizes for furnace filters?Currently, the most common size furnace filters are 10x20. But should your system need custom sized air filters, note that we offer custom sizing ranging from 8 x 24 x 1 to 25 x 30 x 1.
Can you use a 1 inch furnace filter instead of 2 inch?If your system only fits a 1-inch or 2-inch filter, a high MERV rating could be detrimental. A 1-inch filter with less surface space will get clogged fairly quickly and need to be replaced much sooner than a thicker filter.
Are pleated furnace filters better?While fiberglass air filters will do the job in the most basic way, in most cases, pleated air filters are much better. They can filter out smaller particles – important for people with airborne sensitivities. They are less likely to clog in a short amount of time, and they can last up to 90 days.
