We keep it simple, the way Bones would want it. No frills: this beer tastes a whole lot like beer. Stronger than your standard American Pale Ale, but a more subtle hop profile keeps it nice and balanced. Just like DeForest Kelley’s accent, it is hard to place and easy to love.

Color: 7.4 SRM | IBU: 53 | ABV: 6.0%

Extract kits include liquid and/or dry malt extract, plus crushed specialty grains with a grain sock to steep. Partial mash kits include malt extract, plus a larger amount of crushed base malt and specialty grains with a grain sock, and require extra steeping time. All-grain kits include crushed base malt and specialty grains, and require advanced technique and equipment.

All kits also include:
• Hops
• Bottle caps and priming sugar
• Whirlfloc tablet or Irish moss
• Spices and/or other additives (if applicable)

• Yeast (you choose dry yeast, liquid yeast, or not yeast)

Description: Dammit Jim, I'm a beer not a bourbon! This beer used to be called Bellows. With a primarily German malt bill, Dammit Jim! is hopped like an American Pale Ale resulting in a refreshing blend of malt and tropical hop flavor and aroma not typically found in ambers.

On tap at West End Elixers in Bryan TX. Served in a shaker pint.

Appearance: Medium to dark amber color, clear, very thin white head that died back to mostly no head - no lacing either.

Smell: Lightly toasted malt - not a lot of other aroma.

Taste: Toasted malt with a sharply bitter finish, with some pine notes to it.

Mouthfeel: Nice thickness, a little sticky on the teeth, light carbonation.

Overall / Drinkability: I liked the nice sharp bitter finish of this beer, but I found it otherwise just okay. Neat story behind the beer, but nothing special. Might pair well with BBQ though.

I was a little worried when I bought this because I can't stand overly hopped stuff, but it seems to work in this case. While it does have a very assertive hop bite, it still has the malt on the back end that makes it work well. It's not something I could sit around the pool and drink all day, but I will definitely buy again. It's good for when all you want is one or two. I drank it from the can but poured some in a glass for a look. More brown than amber and slightly cloudy. Nice foam and good carbonation. Balanced but pronounced hop flavor. Love the name. (not that it matters)

Have had one draft plus cans from two different lots. Although called an amber it's almost an IPA. It's a delightful beer to quaff. It is a tad cloudy but that doesn't affect the taste. Light head and lacing but the malt notes are there. The hop aroma and tongue coating last -- a "Good thing" IMHO. I've picked up a couple of six packs the past two time I've been in central Texas (H.E.B. rocks!)

Pours light copper. Good head and retention. Nosenis caramel toffee bready malt. Taste follows. Caramel, toffee, bready malt, light hoppy fruitiness, lightly toasted malt. Good amber. Crisp body.

Wasn't expecting much from this beer, for some reason, but DJ is a solid if somewhat undistinguished amber ale. Seems a bit above average on the carbonation front for an ale, and on the lighter side (even for an amber), but has a nice aroma and goes down easily. While not at the top of my amber list, it's a relatively local alternative I'd be happy to serve.

Great beer from a great place! Poured from a can into a glass. Color was amber/light brown. Smell was very malty. Poured and produced a Nice one inch head that smelled bready. Left little to no lacing. Tasted malty the lightest hint of hops at the end. Nice medium carbonation with a smooth feeling. Would buy again!

12oz can poured. Starting temp 45+ degrees. Medium amber color. Smelled like hops and had very hoppy taste. I am not an IPA fan and don't like strong hoppy presence in other styles, either. Beyond the hops, the flavor had promise. Mouthfeel is fine. Not a bad beer overall, just not my style.

12 oz cn of 'Dammit Jim' (note proper spellling) poured into a large wine glass and 'Imported from Texas' kind of like my can of JR Ewing beer. Pour is a hazy copper amber with a half inch of light tan foam atop it all. Looks a bit muddled but is fairly clear in the light. Decent retention.

Aroma of muddled piney hops and a slight hint of ethanol. Bit of caramel and a touch of added spice. Expands a bit with warming to become moderately complex. Taste follows but offers more depth than expected. Caramel notes are there but not sweet and with a decent hop spice component. Still a bit muddled/old in a sense.

A light red in the malt delivery and with a steely presence. Mixed feelings on the aroma though likely an easy quaff if drinking from the can

Poured from as 12 oz. can into a pint glass. Reddish dark orange in color. Not much carbonation. Not much head and little lacing. Taste was malty and crisp. Not a bad beer but I think Skylight is their best offering.

Pours a very cloudy dark amber color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention is good. Lacing is very good. Tropical fruit aroma. Darker, malty taste. Some tropical fruit thrown in there - maybe apricot. May have some hints of toffee. A little nutty. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Astringent aftertaste. There is a little bit of a hoppy bite at the end. It is a tasty beer for sure.
