Mission Statement
The mission of the Collin Central Appraisal District is to appraise all property in the Collin County Appraisal District at market value equally and uniformly, and to communicate that value annually to each taxpayer and taxing jurisdiction.

What is a Homestead Cap?
Details Published on Monday, 15 October 2012 09:10Cap value applies to residential homesteads only and it goes into effect the second year after a residential homestead exemption has been granted for your residence. If the property is your residence homestead, the appraised value may not exceed the sum of:
- 10 percent of the appraised value of the property for the preceding tax year; plus
- the appraised value of the property for the preceding year; plus
- the market value of all new improvements to the property.

2022 TAAD Press Release On Value Increases
Details Published on Tuesday, 22 March 2022 16:42Click here for a press release from the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts (TAAD) regarding home value increases across the State. The range of increases from regions around the State is showing to be 10% to 50% increases. For Collin CAD itself, we are continuing to analyze market data as we prepare to mail our 2022 Appraisal Notices on April 15th. We are anticipating an average home value appraisal increase toward the middle of the range shown in the linked press release, expecting an average increase of 28% to 30%, comparing 2021 to 2022 average home appraisals for the County.

Numerical Coding System
Each taxing unit has a unique numerical code, consisting of eight numbers. For example: 001-902-02 Cayuga Independent School District
001 - Refers to the county in which the taxing unit is located; in this case, Anderson County (001).
902 - Refers to the taxing unit's unique identifying number; also called "unit identifier".
02 - Refers to the type of taxing unit, i.e. city, school, county, water district; in this case, a school district.
