Can am commander 1000 oil

Just wondering what brand of oil people are using in there commanders. I would like to go to a good full synthetic just want to here what everyone thinks.

I used the Mobil 1 5w-40 oil full synthetic it says it is diesel oil

I've allways ran full synthetic..it seems that the engine fan, turns on half as many times than regular oil.. just my 2 cents

Tell that to Can am when you blow the motor up under warranty and they do an oil analysis.

I would just look at ur owners man. It tells u what oil to run. And what alteritive oil to run if u can use theres. I have exsteaded warranty so ill run what they recommand

The oil I listed I use is what the book recommends 5-40 synthetic

I live in the Uk temperature is a bit different

Delo 400 15/40(summer) 5/30 (winter) multi-grade they are both "C" rated oil which exceeds the SL requirements listed in the both the owners and service manuals..

The "Warm-N-Fuzzy Warranty" is another expensive piece of paper that is no better than the dealer who likes or dislikes you :icon_ nono2:

The dealer changed my oil with Motul 10 40

I used AMSOIL 0W-40 and there gear oil for the diff's and gear case at the 10hr service seems to have even made it quiet

8trout: that seems a little thick for our climate, it will be like liver in there at -40c Maybe go to a 0-40 Syn. and you can run the same year around, Amsoil is a good product and of course the BRP stuff.

What can I say??? Moutul 10w40 is what the dealer put into my machine. I think I will change it out to Mobile 1.

I use it had no problems with it.

Amsoil all the way. I use it in everything I own from lawnmowers and chainsaws to trucks and sleds. The Commander hasn't reached it's first service yet but when it does everything in it will be switched to Amsoil.

I use Motul (8100) 5w40 full synthetic, i get it for about 1/2 price, otherwise i would likely use rotellla T6 synthetic 5w40,
