Banks that offer overdraft line of credit

As of May 15, 2020, we will no longer originate new Overdraft Lines of Credit to customers. However, any existing Overdraft Lines of Credit will remain open.

Instead of charging overdraft fees when your balance goes below $0.00, we offer the option of an Overdraft Line of Credit with 360 Checking. Depending on the limit you are offered and select, we will process your transactions on your 360 Checking Checking even if they will dip you below $0.00. We will only cover transactions that stay within the maximum amount of your Overdraft Line of Credit.

Instead of paying an overdraft fee, you’ll only pay interest on the amount you borrowed for the amount of time it’s outstanding (we’re talking pennies).

Here’s an example: A 360 Checking customer has $1,000 in his 360 Checking, and an Overdraft Line of Credit limit of $100. He buys a new laptop computer for $1,050 using his 360 Checking Card. This transaction will be processed using the $1,000 balance in his 360 Checking, and $50 from his Overdraft Line of Credit. His 360 Checking balance will now appear as -$50 on our website, which reflects the $50 credit used from his Overdraft. He will then pay interest on the $50 he borrowed.

      What You Get

A Checking Plus® line of credit automatically transfers funds from your credit line to your checking account to cover your overdraft. That means no more bounced checks!Footnote 3

If there's an outstanding balance on your Checking Plus account, the minimum payment is automatically deducted each month from your linked checking account. It's that easy.

      How It Works

The amount transferred is rounded up to the nearest $100, so you have extra protection if other overdrafts occur. You also can borrow funds from your Checking Plus® line of credit directly OR transfer funds from Checking Plus® to any linked account, such as checking, savings or a money market.

Don't need the extra coverage? Just transfer funds from your checking account to pay back your Checking Plus® advance.

To qualify, you must have an annual income of at least $10,500. You must have and fund an eligible Citibank deposit account (e.g. checking, savings, CD, or money market) with at least $1 within 21 days from the date of application.Footnote 2

Can you overdraft a credit line?

You can't overdraft a credit card unless you've specifically opted into over-the-limit coverage with your card issuer. But spending more than your limit on a credit card isn't typically called overdrafting — that's a term you'd use with your bank account.

      Which banks have overdraft facility?

An overdraft facility in a Current Account allows you to withdraw from even though the balance is zero. It is a form of extension of a stipulated limit offered by banks; the said amount of funds is known as overdrawn.

How much will PNC bank let you overdraft?

PNC's $5 safety buffer PNC allows a $5 margin of error. If you're overdrawn by $5 or less, PNC will refund any› overdraft fees. Also, if you overdraw your account but then deposit enough money to be within the $5 margin by the end of the business day, you won't be penalized.
