JaithWraith's 7DTD No Gore Mod - V1.8.3 (Alpha 20.6 Release) Author: JaithWraith For additional information, you can find this project at www.github.com/JaithWraith/7dtd_nogore. OVERVIEW: This is a simple mod that tones down the gore in 7 Days to Die. If this mod isn't to your tastes, that's fine - don't use it. :) While the game still deals with mature situations and will have decaying zombies and such, this mod removes the splattering blood and dramatically reduces decapitations. Additionally, it changes the Zombie Party Girl to put some more clothes on... COMPATABILITY: Since this mod relies on customized entityclasses.xml, items.xml, and progression.xml files, it is not compatible with any mod that also modifies these files. With the new dismemberment system in A20 I had to edit the effect of skills and weapons with a decapitation chance as well as item modifiers and buff effects. These changes have worked very well at ending dismemberment in my testing, but please let me know if you encounter any problems. Keep in mind that it is now almost pointless to take the headshot skill and deep cuts will not grant a dismember chance. INSTRUCTIONS: Always begin by making a backup of your entityclasses.xml, items.xml, and progression.xml files! Once the mod is extracted, copy the modified entityclasses.xml, items.xml, and progression.xml into the steamapps > common > 7 Days to Die > Data > Config folder and replace the existing files. v1.8.3 is compatible with the Alpha 20.6 release.
Chances seem pretty good, since so many people want to play the game in so many different ways.
Oh that place. I don't know why it would go there.
Any game that has extreme potential for modding (TES games, Fallout, Starbound) tends to end up there. Since this seems to be one of the highest acclaimed survival zombie game, (and the fact that there are some mods already out there) I wouldn't be surprised if it did l. Adam Jan 11, 2016 @ 2:40pmOh cool, finally a place to download all the disturbing nude mods and sex mini games 7d2d was begging for!
People on Steam are more used to Workshop integration... I guess that would also be my preferred mods "depot" :-]
Nexus requires higher expectations and a minimum of "tech-level".
I'd rather have Workshop support than go to that site. Their ban frequency makes the pre A13 trolling and banning marathon look tame.
Nexus requires higher expectations and a minimum of "tech-level". For what it's worth, the Nexus Mod Manager is a very simple one click install process. But for complete, (nearly) bug free compatibility between multiple mods for Bethesda games, you need a combination of NMM and other programs such as Wyre bash and other crazy ♥♥♥♥ to get them all working properly: Steam Workshop did not do this and I never used it because of it. (IMO, it was worth the hassle to learn it.) However, it also largely depends on the game itself, and I don't see 7days nearly as complicated as the likes of Skyrim or Fallout. I don't see either option (Nexus or Workshop) to be better than the other in this case, other than which one will host more mods.

Neither do you have control over your mods nor will you get the best modes due to limitations of the workshop. Anyhow i dont see the nexus to be interesting for this game anytime soon - mod integration is meh atm Last edited by ....; Jan 11, 2016 @ 3:11pm
Nexus requires higher expectations and a minimum of "tech-level". Hahaha ... only for some of the bigger mods. 80% or more of the mods are just reskins or betterment of default textures, and often not that great at that. But yes, mods that require script extenders and the like are more complex. I've seen a few 7DtD mods that add new buildings/skins I think so you could have some of that in this game as well - but that would require more than editing text lines in the .xml, which I do agree is outside what most are likely willing/going to do here. At any rate, I don't really see 7DtD modding being large enough to warrant being on Nexus v. Steam Workshop or just people sharing their files through the official forums or whatnot. Unless the Pimps want to release an actual game/map editor or something. Last edited by CatPerson; Jan 11, 2016 @ 3:20pm

It's there. It exists. Not my fault that mod makers refuse to upload mods there. |
