Tough diesel 4x4 trucks are not supposed to be this pristinely original nearly three decades later. So that's why this low-mileage 1993 Ford F-250 Super Duty is a terrific example of the new class of vintage trucks that are still ready to get the job done today. It even has a rare five-speed stick-shift to maximize the utility.
Super Duty just means getting more of everything you love about a truck. The long bed gives you more capacity; the higher 4x4 stance gives you more go-anywhere ability; and the overall tough truck look gives you more stature. But this example is also about looking good while giving you more. The black paint shows the right signs of being original, and it is impressively complete and clean for a black truck. Plus, the dark color shows off the extra trim and stainless tailgate insert of the premium XLT package. And that goes nicely with the chrome bumpers and polished alloys. This classic is all about offering modern capabilities. So up front you have a strong brush guard and upgraded headlights (the original also comes with the sale.) There are roof running lights and side steps, too. A long bed truck is terrific for hauling a lot, and so there's a plastic bed liner and diamond plate side rails to keep this looking good while getting the job done. And a Super Duty diesel Is terrific for hauling. That's why you have a proper tow hitch on the rear as well as trailering mirrors and a trailer brake control.
This interior is a thoughtful setup where it may not look like it's done a hard day's work, but it's always ready for one. That's why you have rugged rubber flooring and covers over the front seats to make sure they remain looking excellent. But this was built with all the best comfort features, too. It includes The premium AM/FM/cassette stereo, sliding rear window, power windows, power locks, and cold-blowing air conditioning. And the extended cab means you can bring along extra people and/or have a secure place to store extra gear. This is built for long-haul comfort with bucket seats up front with fold-down armrests and a cup holder center console in-between. The steering wheel is on a tilt column to give you a full view of the gauges. And you can really go the distance with features like cruise control and dual fuel tanks.
The massive 7.3-liter diesel motor was borrowed from International Harvester. And they have a long-standing, nearly bulletproof reputation. So while averaging only about 3,200 miles annually already made this a low-mileage truck, having a motor like this will make you feel like you can drive it to the moon and back. This clean F-250 doesn't look like it even spent any days as a mud-slinger, but if you do go off-road this one is equipped just the way you'd want it. It has a two-speed 4x4 transfer case, tall ground clearance, auto-locking hubs, and enough torque to move a cabin. But even when you just stay on the pavement, this is an attractive package. It's rare to have a five-speed manual transmission with the large diesel motor. But the benefit is you are in complete control of your power and economy. Plus, with power steering and front disc brakes, this is a true anytime driver.
