Where is the WARMEST place to visit in January?
Where is the WARMEST place to visit in January?
Looking for a great getaway for my husband and I in mid January. Where is the warmest place to visit? We would like 75 degrees weather.
Is there a place in the US that has warm weather @ that time of year?
Thanks
I think that is impossible to know. Currently the hottest place in the nation is Southern California with temps in the high 80's, low 90's....Is this suppose to be the hottest place on a typical November 20th day??? Maybe someone knows websites which show the "average" temp for a given area. I've traveled so much (especially in Europe) and found that anything can happen weatherwise....don't let this determine the satisfaction of your overall vacation.
The only place in the continental US that consistently reaches those temps is south Florida.
Period.
Not Arizona (Nogales avg daily high is 63 in January), not southern California (LA averages 65). Not Texas (Brownsville averages 70).
You can get historic weather conditions and temps on weatherunderground.com. Key West frequently has weather in the 70s in January.
Weatherunderground is a wonderful site. It has a lot of useful info including a weather history for the days you are considering. Look into it.
Naples FL has the highest average winter temps...76 daily high in January.
Key West is 75.
wunderground.com only gives you historicals fore one selected date at a time.
What you want is averages over many decades, not an average
over 3 or 5 years.
I thought we did this already! Key West IS the warmest area in the state of Florida during the winter months. They do not see the drastic lows like elsewhere and seem to get less rain.
They might average 76 in Naples but check out the lows - 40's and 50's on a daily basis. Thats not my idea of warm. Go to the Keys.
Kent where did you find this info?
For heavens sake people!
Does two degrees really matter?
FYI, Hawaii is the warmest US State. OP didn't say anything about islands, she just wanted to stay in the US>
"xxx" where did you find this info? Is there a site out there that shows the averages for all the states?
It's not the U.S., but nearby -Nassau,Bahamas. I was there this past Jan16-21 and it was in the mid-80's.
Go to weather.com. The average daily high for Honolulu in January and February is 80 degrees.
weatherbase.com gives averages worldwide
Lonley Planets have average temps for all year in their books and website. Try guide to USA.
Sorry but this seems like a stupid post...I can only speculate that places like Southern California, Hawaii, Arizona, So. Florida have got to be the warmest. Why aren't you looking into this on your own? Today on our NBC news, Southern California was the warmest in the USA but who knows about January...anything is possible. Unless you're willing to wait and book 24 hours in advance, it's all a crap shoot.
please, xxx. Hawaii has been a state since 1959. I think you meant to say contiguous.
