The following pictogram files can be downloaded. The size of each pictogram can be adjusted and will remain proportional.

EPS is a standard format (vector image) for printing materials professionally or for producing materials for large projects (e.g., labels for signs, tanks, vessels).

NOTE: Appendix C, Section C.2.3.1 of 29 CFR 1910.1200 states the following: Pictograms shall be in the shape of a square set at a point and shall include a black hazard symbol on a white background with a red frame sufficiently wide to be clearly visible. A square red frame set at a point without a hazard symbol is not a pictogram and is not permitted on the label.

What are the OSHA pictograms?

The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) requires pictograms on labels to alert users of the chemical hazards to which they may be exposed. Each pictogram consists of a symbol on a white background framed within a red border and represents a distinct hazard(s).

What is the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard?

The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), 29 CFR 1910.1200 (h), requires all employers to provide information and training to their employees about the hazardous chemicals to which they may be exposed at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard is introduced into their work area.

How many pictograms are in the OSHA communications?

There are nine pictograms under the GHS to convey the health, physical and environmental hazards. The final Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) requires eight of these pictograms, the exception being the environmental pictogram, as environmental hazards are not within OSHA's jurisdiction.
