Jul 17th 2020 reportI think the song is about a guy who is madly in love with a girl, to the point of it being obsessive love. "The beast inside of me" might refer to him doing something on impulse, without an indication of what it is, OR acting out on doing something stupid to prove his love. "I am your servant, may I light your cigarette?" could refer to him willing to serve the girl he's so obsessed with; "I beg to serve, your wish is my law" could also point to this. "Now close those eyes and let me love you to death" meaning "let me love you till death do us part" - "Shall I prove I mean what I'm saying" referring to him proving just how much he loves this girl, or that he's willing to commit suicide, or even murder, in order to prove his love for her. "I say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya" could mean that he recognises that he's going to do something stupid in order to prove that his love for her is real. "Am I good enough for you" is him, of course, asking if he's good enough for her, as he probably feels that he ISN'T, and needs her to reassure him that he is, in fact, good enough. But what if she doesn't think he is? Who knows - maybe he'll eventually kill himself, or her.

Type O Negative
Type O Negative was a gothic metal band from Brooklyn, New York City. Their lyrical emphasis on themes of romance, depression, and death resulted in the nickname "The Drab Four" (in homage to The Beatles' "Fab Four" moniker). The band went Platinum with 1993's Bloody Kisses, and Gold with 1996's October Rust, and gained a fanbase through seven studio albums, two best-of compilations, and concert DVDs. more »

In her place one hundred candles burning As salty sweat drips from her breast Her hips move and I can feel what they're saying, swaying They say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya, get ya, get... Black lipstick stains her glass of red wine I am your servant, may I light your cigarette? Those lips smooth, yeah I can feel what you're saying, praying They say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya, get ya, get... I beg to serve, your wish is my law Now close those eyes and let me love you to death Shall I prove I mean what I'm saying, begging I say the beast inside me's gonna get ya, get ya, get... Let me love you too Let me love you to death Hey am I good enough for you? Hey am I good enough for you? Am I? Am I? "Love You to Death" is a song by Type O Negative, included on their fourth album October Rust, released in 1996. Although it is the album's third track, it is the first song of the album. The song musically contains a mixture of Cocteau Twins and The Beatles on top with gothic sounds, haunted piano and atmospheric sound effects that make them ooze the loss and lounge. This song is about psychotic love.
"Love You to Death" is the first of four singles released from October Rust. The single was released eight days before the release of the album. There is an official music video for this song.

In her place one hundred candles burning
As salty sweat drips from her breast
Her hips move and I can feel what they're saying, swaying
They say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya, get ya,
get... yeah
Yeah
Black lipstick stains her glass of red wine
I am your servant, may I light your cigarette?
Those lips smooth, yeah I can feel what you're saying, praying
They say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya, get ya, get... yeah
Yeah
I beg to serve, your wish is my law
Now close those eyes and let me love you to death
Shall I prove I mean what I'm saying?
Begging
I say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya, get ya, get.. yeah
Let me love you to...
Let me love you to death
To death
Let me love you to...
Let me love you to death
To death
Am I good enough for you?
Am I good enough for you?
Am I?
For you?
Am I?
For you?
Am I good enough
for you?
