Carefully remove the oil drain plug by turning it counterclockwise.
Be careful when oil starts to drain since the oil may be warmed up and burn your hands. Make sure to use gloves. You may want to allow the oil to drain while replacing the oil filter. Use oil filter pliers to get the old oil filter loose. Use an old rug and remove the filter by hand by turning it counterclockwise.
Reinsert the dipstick fully into the tube. Pull the dipstick and check the oil level. The oil level should be in the hatched area. If it is too low, add more oil between the low and high marks on the dipstick. Visibly inspect any leakage around the oil filter and oil drain plug.Remove the jack stands and do a test drive to warm up the oil. After the test drive, let sit for two minutes and check the oil level again. Make sure the vehicle is parked on a leveled surface. If the oil level is good, check for visible leakages once more. If a vehicle has a maintenance warning for oil life, please reset it according to the owner’s manual. Monitor your parking area to ensure no oil dripping after you have performed the oil change. Usually, after the first day, there might be a little spot if the area if the engine wasn’t cleaned well, but on the following day, there should be none. If you have spots, check the oil drain plug and the oil filter flange for any leakage. Torque Specifications
