Quikrete Concrete Mix is a pre-blended mixture of Portland Cement and Aggregates for general structural uses, requiring only the addition of water. Quikrete Concrete Mix is designed for pouring concrete at least 2” thick. Quikrete has multiple uses including Foundation Walls, Footings, Sidewalks, Curbs, Steps, Ramps, Walkways, Equipment Platforms, Post Footings, Floor Slabs, Patios, Pools, Stepping Stones, Splash Blocks, Rip Rap and Slope Protection. Quikrete Concrete Mix exceeds the compressive strength requirements of ASTM C387. The technical compressive strength are 2500 psi at 7 days and 4000 psi at 28 days, at a *slump range of 2” – 3” . This is extremely low water ratio and would be extremely hard to work the concrete. Remember adding water increases workability but decreases strength. How many concrete bags do you need? One 80lbs bag of Quikrete Concrete Mix will yield approximately .60 cu ft. So it will take 45 bag to equal one cubic yard of concrete. If you have a project over a 1/2 a cubic yard you should consider our Mix On-site Concrete especially if you are hand mixing. You will be one tired puppy if you mix a yard of concrete by hand.
Need help deciding how much concrete to order?Manufacturers recommended Installation Procedures:Preparatory WorkMachine Mixing InstructionQuikrete Concrete Mix can be mixed in a barrel type concrete mixer or a mortar mixer. Make sure to choose a mixer size most appropriate for the job. Allow at least 1 cu ft of mixer capacity for each 80 lb bag of Quikrete Concrete Mix to be mixed at one time. Water DemandFor each 80 lb bag of Quikrete Concrete Mix to be mixed, add approximately 6 pt of fresh water to the mixer. If the material becomes too difficult to mix, add additional water until a workable mix is obtained. Note: Final water content should be approximately 6-9 pt of water per 80 lb bag of concrete. Hand Mixing InstructionEmpty concrete bags into a suitable mixing container. For each 80lb. bag of Quikrete Concrete Mix to be mixed, add approximately 6 pints of fresh water. Work the mix with a shovel, rake or hoe and add water as needed until a stiff, moldable consistency is achieved. Be sure all material is wet, do not leave standing puddles. *Determining SlumpThe Slump of Concrete is determined by filling a 12” slump cone with concrete then removing the cone and measuring the amount (in inches) that the concrete slumps down from the top of the cone. So a 2” slump means that when the cone was removed the concrete only dropped 2 “. A typical slab is poured at a 5” – 6” slump. Order Concrete Onlineby the bag or by the truckloadVisit Our Store
