  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Contacts. You might need to scroll down.
  3. Tap Add account. If you've already synced a Google Account to your device, tap Accounts.

To save your info to your Google Account, turn on sync.

Important: Only turn on Chrome sync with devices that you own. If you use a public computer, use guest mode instead.

When you sync

  • You can find and update your synced info on all your devices, like bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings.
  • You can sign in automatically to Gmail, YouTube, Search, and other Google services. If you’re signed in before sync is turned on, you'll stay signed in.
  • If you change devices, like if you lose your phone or get a new laptop, you can get your synced info back.
  • If you turn on Web & App Activity, you can personalize your experience in other Google products with your Chrome history.
  • To help us build products better suited for all demographics, Chrome may combine declared age and gender information from your Google Account with our statistics. This information is used only in aggregate form.

Customize what you sync

When you turn on sync, all your profile information, like bookmarks, history, and passwords, automatically saves to your Google Account. You can find your Chrome info on all your devices.

If you don't want to sync everything, you can change what info to save.

Sign out & turn off sync

After you sign out and turn off sync, you can still find your bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings on your device.

To delete synced info from your Google Account:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app .
  2. Go to chrome.google.com/sync.
  3. Scroll to Clear Data and tap it.

  • Sign out of Chrome
  • Get your bookmarks, history & other info across devices
  • Use Chrome with multiple profiles
  • Browse Chrome as a guest
  • Choose which Google features you use in Chrome

Sync your iPhone and iPad using iCloud

Every Apple® device has a secure, built-in storage system that allows you to back-up, access, and share your music, photos, contacts, and other data—anytime, anywhere. It's called iCloud®, and it connects to all your devices in the Apple ecosystem.

Check your iCloud storage

Before you sync, make sure storage is available on your iCloud account.

  1. On your iPad or iPhone, go to Settings,and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap iCloud > Manage Storage.
  3. You can see iCloud storage details on the graph at the top of the screen.

How to get more iCloud storage

The free iCloud service comes with 5GB of storage. If you're running low, you can free up space by deleting data, or you can buy more storage by upgrading to iCloud+.

  1. On your iPad or iPhone, go to Settings, and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Manage Storage > Buy More Storage or Change Storage Plan.
  3. Choose a plan and follow the on-screen instructions.

Choose apps to sync

If you're syncing your iPhone with your iPad, the next thing you need to do is sign in to iCloud on both devices and choose the apps you want to sync. You may need to download an app on your iPhone that is not already on your iPad and vice versa.

On your iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings, and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap iCloud.
  3. Under Apps Using iCloud, turn on every app you'd like to sync by tapping the switch.

On your iPad:

  1. Go to Settings, and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap iCloud.
  3. Under Apps Using iCloud, turn on every app you'd like to sync by tapping the switch.

If both devices are connected to the internet and you've signed in with the same iCloud settings and Apple ID, they'll stay connected once they're synced.

Turn on Automatic Downloads

Once you've synced those apps on your iPad and iPhone using iCloud, you can also turn on Automatic Downloads to sync other apps found in Settings, such as Music, Apps, Books & Audiobooks, and Updates. Follow these steps for both your iPhone and iPad:

  1. Open Settings, and tap App Store (or iTunes & App Store.)
  2. Under Automatic Downloads, you can turn on automatic app and app update downloads by tapping the switch for each setting.

After completing this step, any app you download on your iPhone or iPad will automatically appear on both devices.
