Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "should hand back the money" they received from Netflix and not collaborate with the streaming platform, royal commentator Angela Levin has told Express.co.uk. Ms Levin believes the decision should be taken due to The Crown's upcoming dramatization of Royal Family history, with season five released on November 9. The latest series is expected to include events leading up to Princess Diana's death - though Netflix has said: "The exact moment of the crash impact will not be shown."

The Sussexes signed a multi-year deal with the streaming giant in 2020. Ms Levin, author of 'Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort', told Express.co.uk: "I think they should hand back the money and not do it.

"I think it's extraordinary, particularly Harry, who said he thinks about his mother every night and it's terrible when photographers click their cameras, it makes him very nervous and unhappy. And there he is, working, making money, from a company which is taking no notice of that whatsoever."

The commentator referred to remarks publicly made by the Duke in 2019 and 2021 regarding his relationship with the paparazzi. Appearing on the mental health series 'The Me You Can't See', he said: "The clicking of cameras and flashes of cameras makes my blood boil, it makes me angry, it takes me back to what happened to my mum and what I experienced when I was a kid."

Ms Levin also said it's necessary to think "what's more important" between "making a load of money" by producing content for the platform - including a rumoured docu-series focused on the Sussexes' work - and not having the "actual death of Diana" portrayed in The Crown. She ended: "It's me-me-me versus a morality issue, I think." Ms Levin's comment comes amid fears the Royal Family may be hit by backlash over The Crown's portrayal of fictitious events set in the recent past. There are concerns the public could think fictionalised aspects of the story really happened.

Meghan Markle spotted out in California for first time since controversial podcast

The outing comes at a time the Duchess of Sussex is facing some backlash from former coworkers and television presenters for comments she made on her Spotify Archetypes podcast with guest Paris Hilton.

In the episode, named Breaking Down the Bimbo, Meghan spoke of her time working on the television show Deal or No Deal and said the series “reduced her to a bimbo”.

Meghan Markle was seen walking around Pierre La Fond market, an upscale shopping outlet where she also had lunch in Sanat Barbara nearby.

The retail area is located in Montecito, where the royal lives with her husband Prince Harry and children Archie and Lilibet.

She was carrying a shopping bag from Wendy Foster, a high-end women’s clothes shop which specialises in sporting goods.

The Duchess was wearing a brimmed hat, sunglasses, flat sandals and a black strapless top with an olive-coloured jumper tied around her shoulders.

She was also accompanied by a friend, who wore a white cap, bright green jumper and torn-up jeans.

The Crown ‘trying to destroy Royal Family’ says ‘horrified’ friend of the Firm

friend of the Firm has branded The Crown as “vicious” as fans gear up for the much anticipated release of season five.

The fifth season is set to cover the turmoil surrounding the Royal Family in the first half of the 1990s, ending in 1996.

This period was viewed as a particularly difficult time for the Firm as it saw the collapse of Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Princess Anne’s marriages.

A friend of the Firm has blasted the drama and told the Times the show was “damaging and malicious fiction” and “a barrel-load of nonsense peddled for no other reason than to provide maximum, and entirely false, dramatic impact”.

They continued: “I’m horrified by what is going on with Netflix and how they are vilifying the Royal Family. It is vicious.

“It’s as if they’re trying to destroy the Royal Family.”

Prince William set to take on exciting 'active role' in King Charles' coronation ceremony

Prince William will reportedly help plan King Charles's coronation ceremony in order to set the tone of the event and will focus on how the ceremony can reflect modern-day Britain.

Royal sources have previously stated in the past that King Charles’s crowning was  “deliberately been kept quite unplanned to ensure it can best reflect the climate at the time at which it happens”.

Buckingham Palace has also not confirmed the members of the coronation committee yet, but Telegraph sources have reported that the new Prince of Wales will ensure the upcoming coronation will not feature any "archaic", "feudal" and "imperial" elements.

King Charles’s coronation is set to be held next year on Saturday, May 6, eight months after the death of Queen Elizabeth, who died last month on September 8.

The interview has since been deemed highly controversial and, acccording to reports, Prince William isn't happy that Netflix is deciding to include a recreation of the interview in their upcoming series.

However, speaking on GB News, royal expert and author Tom Bower claimed that Netflix is "quite right" to include the interview in their storyline as the original interview is "part of the royal story".

'Doesn't make sense': Stripping Prince Harry of major royal role would be 'understandable'

Prince Harry's current position as a Counsellor of State "doesn't seem to make sense", royal commentator and British journalist Jonathan Sacerdoti said while discussing rumours King Charles III may push to modify the rules regarding who can deputise for the sovereign.

Speaking of the possible changes the new sovereign may want to make over the next few months and years, the expert told Express.co.uk: "There is some rumour or discussion about whether or not he will change the rules over who can deputise for the monarch, for example in cases where the monarch is incapacitated through health.

"It is thought he is considering making it more restricted to the adult working royals, which would of course exclude Prince Harry and Prince Andrew."

‘They wanted away!’ Meghan and Harry’s coronation invite blasted by readers

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should not attend King Charles III’s coronation ceremony next year, according to Express.co.uk readers answering a new poll.

The couple have reportedly been invited to see the King be crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6 alongside their two children, three-year-old Archie and one-year-old Lilibet.

Royal commentator Neil Sean said that sources at the Palace confirmed an invite for the ceremony would be sent out but claimed it was unclear whether they would have a “major role” in the occasion.

He said last week: “Everybody who is anybody will want to attend the coronation because it goes down in history. Everyone looks at the guestlist. But the focus has returned to Charles' youngest son. I contacted the Palace, and they confirmed that yes, they will be invited, but they did not want to confirm the role they will be playing.”

King Charles III will have to 'rein Fergie in' as Duchess 'going rogue', claims

The hosts of the Royally Obsessed podcast, Christina Garibaldi and Christine Ross, discussed the latest social media posts shared by Sarah Ferguson, saying the Duchess of York appears to be “going rogue”.

Ms Garibaldi said: “We saw these pictures with the Queen's corgis and Fergie for her birthday over the weekend."

Ms Ross added: “She's kind of going rogue with social media.”

Ms Garibaldi continued: “I do think it's like Fergie has kind of been let off a leash a little bit with the Queen not there anymore.

"And I think Charles is going to have to rein her in at some point because it feels like she is just like everywhere right now”.

Meghan and Harry 'should hand back money' from Netflix amid Crown row

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex "should hand back the money" they received from Netflix following a multi-year deal struck in 2020 to create content for the platform and not collaborate with the streaming platform that is releasing a show, The Crown, which has the potential to damage the Royal Family with its portrayal of fictionalised and sometimes made-up stories set in recent royal history, according to royal commentator Angela Levin.

The author of the newly-released book Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort, told Express.co.uk when asked whether she believes Meghan and Harry should take a stand over Netflix's series The Crown: "I think they should hand back the money and not do it.

"I think it's extraordinary, particularly Harry, who said he thinks about his mother every night and it's terrible when photographers click their cameras, it makes him very nervous and unhappy. And there he is, working, making money, from a company which is taking no notice of that whatsoever."

Ms Levin also said it's necessary to think "what's more important" between "making a load of money" by producing content for the platform - including a rumoured docu-series focused on the Sussexes' work - and not having the "actual death of Diana" portrayed in The Crown - although Netflix stated the exact moment of the deadly car crash involving the late Princess of Wales will not be shown during the six-season show.

Mike Tindall shares unusual nickname for wife Zara

Mike, who won the World Cup as one of the players in the England rugby team in 2003, used Zara's private nickname during one episode of the Rugby Joe podcast.

Asked by podcast host Alex Payne whether "he would rather marry a royal or win the World Cup", Mike jokingly replied: "Well I’ve done both technically."

He then continued: "Well hang on, will it be my wife that I’m marrying?"

Mr Payne then cleared up the question, saying: "Yeah would you rather marry Zoey or win the World Cup?"

Mike then responded, using "Zoey" to refer to Zara: "Could we take Zoey out of it? Cause obviously if it’s my wife I would marry my wife."

King Charles to plan biggest ever set of royal tours to 'extend hand of friendship'

King Charles is planning the biggest-ever series of tours to kick off his reign aimed at “extending a hand of friendship and support”, according to royal sources.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate, are also expected to play a “major support role” in relation to the visits.

It is also understood that His Majesty is keen to undertake a number of solo trips both at home and abroad.

This is expected to allow the Queen Consort to undertake more engagements to help assist her personal projects.

A royal source told The Daily Mirror that His Majesty wanted to set a good impression in the "crucial" early period of his reign.

Stripping Prince Harry of major royal role would be 'understandable', says expert

Royal commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti believes it "doesn't make sense" for Prince Harry to hold the title of Counsellor of State, given he lives in the US and is no longer a working royal.

Counsellors deputise for the monarch when they are incapacitated to fulfil their duties due to health issues or because they are abroad.

Speaking about a report claiming King Charles III may want to change the requirements regarding who can take on this role, Mr Sacerdoti told Express.co.uk: "It is thought he is considering making it more restricted to the adult working royals, which would of course exclude Prince Harry and Prince Andrew.

"And that would be understandable if he did push to do that and have it cleared through Parliament, because just on a practical level, which means we put personal and emotional concerns aside, it doesn't seem to make sense that someone who lives in America would be anywhere in the line for actually deputising for the King of the United Kingdom, it doesn't make sense."

Prince Harry’s memoir ‘could spell big trouble’ for King Charles, insider claims

A royal insider told the Daily Beast: "There is one chapter in particular that could spell big trouble for Charles."

The source did not, however, explain what the revelations within the anticipated book were about.

The Duke of Sussex announced in July last year he was authoring an autobiography, set to cover his whole life in the public eye, from childhood to fatherhood.

Both Harry and his memoir's publisher, Penguin Random House, have since remained tight-lipped on the content of the book.

King's aides fret about 'unhelpful' backlash from The Crown

King Charles III and his close aides would rather the fifth season of The Crown "was not happening" as the Palace braces for a flurry of negativity, according to the Daily Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer.

Appearing on Express.co.uk's weekly Royal Round-up, the expert said: "He and his advisers will regard it as unhelpful because it brings back stories of the affair, of Charles and Diana briefing against each other, and so on.

"They would rather it wasn't happening but what can they do?"

Meghan and Harry ‘under pressure’ as Queen’s death casts shadow over Netflix show

A royal commentator believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be getting cold feet about their Netflix docu-series focused on their work following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti argued a comment made by Meghan during her recent interview with Variety, in which she revealed that for the series the Sussexes trusted a director which saw their lives through her lenses, meaning the series "may not be the way we would have told it", may be indicative of the Duke and Duchess feeling uncertain about their upcoming show.

He told Express.co.uk: "There is pressure, and increased pressure after the death of the Queen, because they somehow maybe see feel a bit of regret or have some second thoughts about what exactly they said in the past and what they were going to say in the future.

"We all know that there have been these rumours that they want to modify some of the things they had previously said for the book and the Netflix series."

King Charles rules out more cuts to number of working royals

Over the past years, Charles was widely rumoured to be planning a slimmed down Firm, which would have meant to cut the number of the Royal Family's working members.

However, the Daily Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer reported sources close to the King have said he has “no plans” to reduce the number of working royals from the current 11 – more than any of the other European monarchies.

His decision is one of several which shows a desire to be much more conservative than many predicted and also following his late mother’s practice, Mr Palmer wrote.

Kate 'wants to unite' Prince Harry and Prince William

Sources have claimed the Princess of Wales wants to help Harry and William heal their rift - and may have hatched a plan to do so while she and her husband are in the US in December.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to travel to Boston in two-month-time for the second Earthshot Prize ceremony award.

Sources claimed to US Weekly the pair may also want to carve out some time in New York - where the Princess of Wales could try to bring together the once-close brothers, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be in the Big Apple on December 6 to attend the Ripple of Hope Award Gala.

One source told the magazine: "Kate wants to unite the brothers and heal the rift. She knows it's what Diana and the Queen would have wanted."

A second added: "It would be a small gathering someplace private. Some of the ice between them thawed while they were celebrating the Queen's life. Plus, Kate still has a lot of affection for Harry, and she hates seeing the divide between him and her husband."
