Feb 29, 2012 ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ANSWERS??? PROBLEMS WITH DOOR LOCKS ON 2002 FORD EXCURSION....My door locks were working fine up until a few month ago when I added a TS chip to my truck...I first noticed the security light stayed on for about 5 minutes of driving...I contacted TS about this problem and they advised that all Excursions with the factory
security would do this with the chip...Then after about two months from time to time the locks would lock and unlock while driving down the road..The next problem was my key fob would not lock or unlock the doors from time to time...Now my door ajar light stays lite most of the time while driving and after I cut the truck off the doors will not auto lock and the radio stays on..The radio will eventually cut off in 5-10 min and the doors will lock sometimes..The only info I find on line in regard
to door lock problems is with the actuators...Dont belive this is the problem because when locks decide to work the actuators are hitting hard. Also read on another site about cleaning all the door and hatch contacts with electical contact cleaner..Well that was like throwing $6.00 in the wind.

I have an '02 7.3 F250 with the same problem. It began well after I installed an Edge Juice w/ Attitude. I now have a TS chip and the same problem still. I have tried the door slamming and the spray oil in the doors that shut the light off for a couple of days however it is back on now. Is anyone else having these issues?

With all the issues you are having with the various electrical problems I would probably look into your gem module first, especially if your windshield is leaking or has in the past. Joined Feb 22, 2017 · 8 Posts

Now my door ajar light stays lite most of the time while driving Sounds like the drivers master door switch is having issues You can lubricate it from outside, sometimes that helps free a sticky switch, sometimes the mechanism needs to be replaced. Can also of course be a different door, it is not always the drivers door, but that is the one that gets used the most and has the most failures. Joined Jan 22, 2017 · 31 Posts
Back from the dead thread. The OPs problem does sound like the GEM module. Almost every symptom listed has zero to do with a chip. Joined Feb 23, 2018 · 6 Posts
