By now you’ve probably seen the post going around on Facebook about the free Bath & Body Works Candle but if you haven’t, let me fill you in…
Kristin Peden posted on Facebook saying:
Public service announcement!! Ladies how many of you shop for candles at bath and body works?? At Christmas mainly and birthdays I splurge and go and get about $200-$300 worth of candles for my family, friends, and myself. They are expensive candles. BUT they last forever and smell AMAZING!! Little did I know….YOU CAN TAKE THE EMPTY CANDLE JAR BACK TO BATH AND BODY AND GET A BRAND. NEW. FREE…YES
FREE CANDLE.I called the store today and ask. Its legityour welcomealso now I’m mad at myself because I can’t tell you how many old jars I’ve thrower away..
Now as you might imagine, that post has since received over 91,000 shares on Facebook.
So, it leaves the question, does Bath and Body Works give you a free candle in exchange for an old one?
Well, according to many current employees of Bath and Body Works, it is unfortunately, not true.
While Bath & Body Works has one of the most generous return policies, this sort of just takes advantage of that and is a lot like stealing.
So, no, you cannot return a fully used and old candle in exchange for a new one.
And honestly, it makes sense. I am sure this would cause Bath & Body Works to lose a lot of money and after all, they are a business.
